Someone just posted a major amount of codes within the last few minutes!
I can't do a link because the mods don't want links to that particular 'large wallet' site. So PM me, I'll be around another hour or so.

Whats the matter can't say fat wallet iether?

just do a search on fat wallet there are tons of codes.

BUT 358.00 for a 2.4 HT CPU... Witch comes really close to the perfromance of a 2.8, Let's just say you probably won't notice the diffrence of a .4 Mhz unless you run seti and want it to go an extra 10 Mins faster processing Seti Units??? Anyway, Same boad 875P chipset, RAM, HD, Floppy, CD, Case, PS. Now You would be really hard pressed to build one that cheap.

My only concern is HOW QUIET are these? For all the people that have them... How do you like them? Any Problems?

Thanks for the heads up....

VERY VERY quiet.

I was surprised and happy. Near silent (until I stuck a GeForceFX 5600 in there).

Total After 200 MIR (Dell is really good about getting them back) = 676.23

Total around 338 Per System... Not bad considering what I got. Sad you can't build a system for that. But after 170 just for the Proc alone and another 130-150 bucks for a Motherboard your already at the Dell system price. I like building systems but when they start thowing in keyboards, mice and hard drives CDROMS and Floppys for free might as well let someone else put them together for you.

Sad part I was considering buying even more... Yikes... I thought I'd wait it out for a better deal if one should happen.

On Fat Wally they were saying you could get the double ram and the 100 rebate but it clearly says after checking the double ram box that it rebate is no longer offerd so I didn't chance that.

Choose C1, unless you plan on having those using raid for those two drives (which you probably aren't)

I am trying SO hard to resist this.

Can anyone tell me if the motherboard has USB headers?

I have a 6 in 1 digital media card reader that plugs directly into the MB. Reader is USB 2.0 and I'm trying to use logic that this would save me money because I would not have to buy a $20 usb 2.0 card.....

Check out the FAQ here.

It has 6 USB ports in the back and a motherboard header according to the pics. It's also worth noting it has a gigabit nic.

This is about one hour away. Please do not ask for one after they expire.

Please PM me if you need one.

I ordered three of these the first day they dropped in price. I think I ended up paying just under $1250 for all three, since I had the 10% off coupon and a 3% discount for doing the 60 days same as cash financing. (We're paying off the financing right away, so that won't cost us anything either.) Shipping was free of course. Our config was P4/2.4C/128 RAM/80 GB HD for all three

We got all three last week, and dropped in a second 80 GB drive in each (Newegg), and a stick of 512 MB RAM in each (Crucial). Installation was a breeze, total of 5 mins for each one. Total price for all three with the added parts was just under $1800. Simply amazing. I'd be hard pressed to find parts and build them from scratch at that price point! Plus, they are way faster than the AMD XP based machines we had been building. Intel may have just converted me back...

Take care,

Brian

Anybody encounter some wierd errors with your new 400SC?

For some reason, when I plug four usb devices into the four usb ports in a row, my computer shows a stop error when it loads windows. This doesn't happen when I use the bottom two, and I've checked the ports individually and they all work. I figure there must be some shared ports that can't handle the power that goes through.

Second, my video has been acting up. I think I fixed it by setting the bios to AGP rather than AUTO, but one day isn't long enough to determine if the problem has gone away.

Anybody else?

edit: and by the way, my device manager shows "Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller" under Other Devices. I can't seem to install drivers to ged rid of it, although there are four other USB host controllers shown. If you have ideas, please let me know.

Try posting to the DELL discussion group linked to in the first post. Much more experience with the box there.

Anyone notice that the USB device controllers read as 4 IDE control devices and 1 as being "enhanced"; I'm thinking that "enhanced" is USB 2.0, and the others are 1.1; however, if you go to the Intel website, they really don't mention that distinction. sorry, I didn't post the links; If you can't find the discussion of these devices, I'll look them up and post later. The other thing I noticed is that I can't seem to get the SATA Raid or the on board audio to allow the controlling driver software from Intel's download page to function; it refuses to allow the board to accept the drivers.

Anyone having this problem?

I recieved a Dell catalog a few weeks ago but ignored it. Afer reading about this here I ordered one but remembered that there was a reference to a website www.dell.com/10off for 10% your next order. It didn't send the coupon to me email right away so I called and the CSR took the 10% off for me.
-David

there was no reference to any restriction asociated with the discount offer so I hope it ok to post this here.

Nope; I think it's there just for statistics.

It shouldn't. The only thing I can think of them doing is to pre-partition the disk. You can take care of that by using fdisk or any other partitioning tool.

some people online are claiming the celeron has a different MB (reason: i875 does not support a 400mhz fsb)

Other people (including the faq insist all version have the same MB).

has anyone who purchased the celeron NOT recieved an i875 mb with an AGP slot?

Thanks!

Yeah, just your basic Nvidia TNT2....

I got my machine over a month ago when they had the 2.8GB deal, and now the more I read about (and use!) this machine, I should have jumped on another one. I had just put together a new Barton machine before receiving this box. After seeing how it performed, I moved my 1GB DDR333, FX5200, 40gb, DVD-ROM, CD-RW, & DVD-R to this box and it's now my primary PC. I've started to part my old machine to pay for it before the 60 days [same as cash] are over

If your USB controllers are appearing as IDE controllers, something is pretty f**ked up on your system.
Yes, the "Enhanced Host Controller" is a USB 2.0 controller.
