I did try that, but it did not let me. The Primary Master has both options, but the Primary Slave says "off", and when I hit the drop down list, it does not give me an auto option. I cannot remember what the other option was right off hand, but I'll have to check that again tonight. Whatever that other option was, it would not change to it. When I tried selecting that other option, it would just default back to "off". I did find that very strange, but I was getting too tired last night and just gave up! Thanks,

Also, be careful removing the heatsink. The thermal paste that Dell used is more like Glue! I gently pulled up on the heat sink after disengaging the clips, an the processor came right out of the socket! Luckily it did not damage anything, but just a warning to all who plan on removing the 3.2 to put in another board and selling the Dell!

I think I read somewhere in another Dell deal that Dell's like the Cable Select setting for two HDs on the same IDE channel. Try setting the jumpers on both HDs to CS and I think the Master will default to the HD on the end of the cable.

I have it written down at work ...it's 82.27 for the RAM and aprrox 127.00 for the HD ...they couldn't (at the time) give me the amount of the CD Rom ...but, I have to tell you ...I WENT THROUGH DELL HELL to get it! Check out DELL Buyback prices

For those of you that missed-out, if Dell runs the P4 3.2 upgrade promotion again, it will either be when they release their October Small Business catalog (most likely) or as they approach the end of their third-quarter (end-October). There have also been a few systems popping-up for sale between the various forums...

seems to me there is very little reason to buy anything other than the crucial memory for this system if u want to spend under 230 for 1 gig
the faster stuff seems to have compatibility issues or gets kicked back to a slower cas

Booted fine. Being recognized correctly in Dual channel.

I got the 512 meg DDR ECC version. First time I've owned ECC ram or a gig of memory. I feel special now

Rebate form states Rebate offer and amount will be listed on the system packing slip for qualifying Dell Small Business System purchases.. I don't see anything on the packing slip that lists rebate amt, am I missing something?

The rebate may only be listed as the rebate promotion number, which for the 400SC has been "Rebate 42306". Look for the following line on your Packing Slip:

• 462-4065 - $50 Mail-In Rebate #42306! Redeem after system purchase at www.dell.com
  
  462-3445 - $100 Mail-In Rebate #42306! Redeem after system purchase at www.dell.com

The rebate is usually the last listed item on the packing slip. If the rebate is missing, you will need to take this up with Dell directly.
