All the systems I've bought from Dell had a rebate done this way. It takes over 2 months to get the check.

Dell rebates are the fastest of any rebate I have ever gotten, usually under a month.

You missed my point. I have ordered several Dell systems (4500, 4550, 600SC & 400SC) during the past year and they all advertised a rebate in several places on the website. This deal did not. I know they changed the rebate process to add the specific rebate offer number to the invoice and use a generic rebate form a few months ago.

Lanyap - while the rebate option is not listed on the main splash-page, it is listed once you get to the first configuration options page, immediately below the processor options

Like I said, I have the ability to still order the 3.2 at the original price (at least right now it looks like it) ... so if anyone is interested ... let me know ... I am not looking at making anything out of this except maybe for you to pay for shipping from me to you ...

I also had one in my cart but had moved to the enter cc info page & I sat on it. I just hit the send button & got my 1st email of 'Order Acknowledgement' 3.2 sys @ the 2.8 price.

Still haven't recieved an order number hope this goes through. Fingers crossed.

Grrr...Ordered yesterday early in this thread...Got my acknowledgement email, but STILL no confirmation email. This always happens to me since dell gave me a "dedicated" team of support people for my account. They do this if you order a lot of stuff from them. They claim the dedicated team will make your orders get prompter attention, but the truth is that your orders NEVER go through quickly again, and frequently you have to call them just to get the orders out of limbo!

How many of you are frequent buyers with a "dedicated" set of Dell support people?

(I even emailed my lead support person yesterday, and predictably have not gotten a response).

How long does it usually take for your orders to pass production I received my acknowledgement within in an hour or so yesterday but its been stuck at the production phase since, kind of bumming me out. Its not due to go out for delivery until the 11th and not due to arrive at my house until the 16-18th but i figured it would finish production in a couple of hours at the most. I hope something isn't wrong.

In my experience the status page is often completely wrong. I had something that was in production for a week, then suddenly listed as delayed for 2 weeks, then it mysteriously arrived at my door the next day. Also, the volume of orders was probably ridiculously huge, which would further screw up the already shoddy accuracy of their status page.

I am in the same boat ... I have my ack. e-mail for my first two servers I ordered last night but no dice on anything else, so I called and got the run around from someone whose primary language was not customer service ... then I just called again and they still cannot locate my order ...

I am just really bummed right now ...

i'm not sure if dell has pulled the $100 rebate too. i no longer see it on any configuration/detail pages. looks like the deal might be over.
