Dell Poweredge - Need software to support dual tapes

Over at my work we have a Dell Poweredge with dual tape drives but unfortunately just about every software package we try can only find one drive and support only one of the tape drives. We really only need basic backup software so would like to try to find a solution that won't break the bank. Any recommendations?

Veritas BackupExec will do it. I'm not sure of the cost, but I know it handles multiple tape drives.

What is good tape backup solution for dentist office with 100GB of x-ray data?

How well does the picutre files get compressed using tape backup?
