You will never find a 5x optical on a camera the size of a digital elph.
The point of the Elphs is that the camera can be brought with you everywhere.

I went with the 200, better size.

The PowerShot S330 and S200 can record movies with sound in VGA (640 x 480 pixels), QVGA (320 x 240 pixels) and Q2VGA (160 x 120 pixels) at 20 frames per second. Up to 4 seconds of continuous recording is possible in VGA, 10 seconds in QVGA, and up to 30 seconds in the Q2VGA format. In addition, the PowerShot S330 features a built-in speaker for audio playback, as well as a Voice Memo feature that allows users to add up to 60 seconds of sound annotation to any captured image on the camera's CF card.

Both cameras feature a 1/2.7-inch, 2.0 megapixel CCD sensor that creates full color or black-and-white images up to 1600x1200 pixels when set to the camera's Large resolution mode. The camera also offers additional resolution settings of 1024x768 and 640x480 when set in the Medium or Small modes, which are ideal for on-screen applications, such as Web sites and CD-ROMs and allow more images to be recorded on a single CompactFlash memory card. The new cameras are compatible with Type I CompactFlash Cards and will be shipped with an 8MB CF card.

i juz got my confirmation email, saying shipping date for my S200 is no later than 1st April... hmmm....

I got the S330

Better Flash (This is the main reason I got it. S110 was just a terrible camera in the dark.)
Playback audio
Better optical zoom. 1x doesn't sound much, but it is worth it.

Also, Question. What kind of memory card do these use. I've read that it uses a Compact flash card but it's only 8Mb. Is there anyway to upgrade the size of it? I'm new to the digital camera scene.

Another thing. Do I need a compact flash reader to download the pix into the pc??

No, cable included... But Reader from newegg is only 20.00 and well worth it! Btw get you mem card there too !!!

What else??? I think I'll just buy this one. Last question. Any reason I should not buy this?? As mentioned, I'm looking for a digicam and was looking at the S300 but the S200 sounds a whole lot sweeter and cheaper too. I don't think I'll use the video features but who knows. Any other camera out there that beats this one?? I want it for the size and the features (2Megapixel and all) Size matters most. So, anybody know of any reason which I should not buy it??

bought one for myself and one for my brother. both are s200. i am totally willing to sacrifice the higher zoom ability in the S330 for the smaller size in the S200. have been using S100 and S110 and loving every bit of it. now, got to keep my finger crossed that these babies will arrive on/before april 2, as stated on the confirmation email i received 10 mins after i ordered.

The reason these are out of stock is because they haven't gotten even the first shipment yet.. good to see that these went over so well, I thought they were very hot myself. I'll add a poll in just a few minutes, I wasn't aware that the S330 had a better flash then the S200, the wonders of Anandtech!

Edit: Sorry guys, I can't seem to find the option to add a poll anymore, if someone wants to PM me the way to do it, I'd gladly put one up though

Man, I wish I can get in on this deal. Too bad I spent $400 last year on the Kodak DC4800.

Anyone getting the S330 want to trade? I'll trade my Kodak DC4800 + 320MB CF card for the S330 and a 128MB card?

Both the camera's ISO are limited at 400. How would you know that if the S330 would be better than the S200? Just curious.

I got the S200 anyway. Is it gonna be bad for night shots??
