isekii: I totally agree that if you want awesome videos, a purpose-built camcorder is gonna be tons better than any portable digi-cam. But, it's great having something that can take videos in such a small package. I'd say the percentage of stuff I brought back from my vacation in hawaii was 50% pictures and 50% videos. I've never done much research on digital camcorders, but are there any that are comparable to the size of the small digi-cams? I'd definitely be interested in one if there were.
Unclebud: Hehe... and you >just< figured out that us anandtechers are finicky about our stuff? We spend hours looking for deals that generally save us a couple bucks (Minus the occasional awesome deals). Fry's had a sale for the Altec Lansing ATP3 speakers for $59.99. But, I waited until Dell had a coupon/sale (bought a Dazzle 6-in-1 card reader with it). I saved about $20-30 bucks at the most. If I was trying to "optimize" the sunk-costs and marginal value of all this, I've wasted thousands of dollars in the past year or so. But, it's just a hobby to have the absolute best and greatest and the cheapest out-of-pocket cost. I would >hate< to have to write code to an anandtecher, since we'd complain about the smallest thing. It's memory foot-print is too much...you could've saved a CPU cycle by using a bit-shift instead... You know what I mean.
Heck, I still do all the regular maintenance on my car (oil changes/filters/sparks), when it'd definitely be a better dollar-value for me to bring it to a shop to get it all done. We all need our hobbies. Our's just happens to be having the best stuff for the best price possible.
