If these are still 2.1MP, then I think the Pentax Optio 330 is a better buy if you don't need video and sound recording.
It's made of metal too, closer to the size of the S110, but 3.34MP and 3x optical zoom.
It doesn't have sound recording capability though, so it's not useful for taking short videos. But I use my digital camera for still photos anyway.
Pentax had a $100MIR last time I checked.

Hate to say it, but I agree with GnatGoSplat, these Canon cameras are a measly 2.x megapixels, can't see why everyone is getting so excited over this. There should be hot deal posts on 3mp cameras with 3x or better optical zoom.

Why is Canon even making 2.x mp cameras anymore is a even better question ?

The average person really only prints 4x6s 99% of the time, so this should be fine for them... besides, not very many cameras that are 3mp and have a 3x zoom in this size range. Also, canon uses top notch lenses, which help make up for the lower resolution.

Since it's obviously a good deal and no one can crap on it, let's crap on the very premise of buying the product. Next time someone posts a deal for a 40 GB HD, it'll suck since it's really not good enough to buy, since there are 80 and 100 MB ones out there.

I don't think that Gnatgosplat's comment is crapping. I want some heated debate before I plunk down some solid cash on something. I can't say how many times I've been saved by just this type of input. I bought the S200 but assumed that the pixel count would be in the 3.1 or 4.1 range. I'd already placed my order so I'm sticking with it. Just hope i can sell my S100 for more than $275.00. I don't think that I'll be getting more than $40.00 worth of improvements though with the s200 over the S100. (My total came to $314.00 with tax)

I have the s110. I just got it like 2 months ago. I hate it when there's a new model out so soon. I'll probably find a way to ebay mine and get the new one without paying any extra, so hopefully it'll turn out ok for me.

3Mp cameras are not practical in this form factor.
Nobody has succeeded yet in creating this small of optics that can produce 3Mp worth of information.

Read the reviews on dpreview of the Optio 330 and the Kyocera.
The resolutions obtained are only slightly higher than the previous generation canons, and both exhibited considerable other image problems.
I think canon has it right with the digital elph line, try to take the best picture you can within the limitations of 2Mp.
I have printed 8x10's from my S100 that look fantastic.

Do not judge digital cameras by the Mp number alone.

have been a proud owner of S110, Both my wife and I love it. I don't think 2MP is a problem. Even with a 4MP camera, the size of the picture is only about 40% bigger than 2MP. For a 3MP camera, it is only about 20% bigger. Not a big deal. If you are looking for a solid built, samll camera that you can carry it to anywhere, this is definately the one.

Well, i wasn't thread crapping, someone who shall remain nameless sent me a pm asking not to thread crap. Canon lenses are prob better than this cheapo Olympus 360 I have here. I wish steves-digicams or someone else had a nice concise review on the s330, looks nice, but a good review really does help pinpoint if it has problems, like the G2 has this hairline structure crack in it I been hearing so much about.
