Dell pre-order on the Canon S200 digital camera, $289.10! S330, $335!

So, it's 1st of April. Who got their camera to ship??

my order is changed to "delayed 4/2/02" the day after I ordered back on the 28th and it hasn't changed since... they haven't given me a solid estimated shipdate... gosh i hope this comes. i hope they don't rip this one down like they did with all those speakers...

We have reviewed your order # 8020XXXXX, and although we had anticipated being able to ship your order sooner, we are experiencing an unexpected delay. We will not be able to ship your order until 4/15/02. We

I wonder if Dell has actually shipped to anyone.

Has anyone ever gotten 'Dell Home' to ship to APO/FPO. I would really like to get in on this deal, but APO/FPO is not an option on their shipping screen... It is difficult to call them too, being overseas. Mayve if someone is calling them anyway for something else, they could ask about this subject for me? Thanks.

People, I posted on FRIDAY that an S200 order scheduled for 3/29 had been delayed to ship on or before 4/12.
Did you really think you were going to get it before then????? I know the servers are slow, but come on!!!!!

I think I'm going to go for the S330. Hopefully I'll be able to check out the size at a local B&M after work. Looks like a great camera though!

Back when we had to decide between the S110 and the S300, I picked the S300 only because I'm a SCUBA diver...

Canon makes an underwater case for the S100/S110 (might work w/S200 too?) but it is only good to 9.8 feet! This is useless as I snokel deeper than that. Maybe if you take pictures in the rain...

The S300 (and possibly S330) has a case I got on buy.com for $170 that you can take down to 100 feet. If any of you do underwater photography you'll know this is a steal for an underwater digital setup. Although, if you are serious about underwater pics, invest in an external strobe. This camera is not known for having a great flash, at 100 feet it is basically non-existent.

If the button layout is the same for the S200/S330 these cases should work. Someone may want to call Canon to confirm.

You guys are getting an awesome deal! I got my S300 about 5 months ago for $399 on a super hot deal. It was retailing for $500 at the time. Hope this helps some of you decide...

Before ordering from Dell.com I hope you started at www.ebates.com and the eBates ad banner was showing on the top 1/5 portion of the browser window? You HAVE to go through eBates.com in order to receive your % rebate. It should show up in a few days, up to a week or two. I am getting back $8.67 (or 3% of $289.10), free money, w00t! So far I have received over $1,200 from eBates.com since joining almost 2 years ago. My quarterly eBates checks ($150 or more) pay for my cell phone bill!

May 12th for an S200? Damn that's 6 weeks away!

I got an S200 too, it says estimated ship date on or before May 14 ?!?!
Also I used the ebates but they dont' show up in my account yet. I hope they will soon. I did start at their home page and I got a warning saying that I'm using IE6 so I won't see the bar but they are tracking my purchases.

I just placed an order for the S200 thinking I would cancel the order already placed for the S330 (estimated to ship 4/2). Now it states the S200 is to arrive about 5/14. I'll probably just stick with the S330 and cancel my new order. At least I have plenty of time to do that.

FYI - The S200 is now showing up in NexTag.com for ~$340 shipped, in stock. And the S330 is ~$390 shipped, in stock on PriceGrabber.com. The Dell offer is a good deal, just not as good as I had originally thought.
