Thanks a whole lot, grillmasterP. I came across some posts in dpreview regarding LCD pixel problem, it seems to be quite common among s330 owners. Is the shots quality of s330 better, compare with the s300? I have a s300, ordered a s330 on 3/31 which hasn't reach yet, so I am not sure which to be ebay.

I just got off the phone with a dell CSR about my S200 order, he said it's backordered and should be shipping on 4/17...which was the date my original delay email said (my ordder status page has the "delay call for ETA" message). as for why some of you got a 4/26 date, either the dell guy is just reporting the number on his computer screen which may or may not be accurate, or it has to do with stock at distribution centers or who ordered first...in any case, my hopes are rising and I think I can wait a few more days to see if the dell guy was correct

Now THAT is a smoking deal. Should have given us the info back then... Would have saved us another 50 bucks or so. That's a spare battery!

Oh well. Good for you for spotting it.

Question: is the s330 really pocketable? Is about the size of a deck of cars, this seems pretty pocketable to me!

Also, how are the low light condition pictures?

Can't wait to get mine, should be here today or tommorow.

staticfly: I just measured the S330 and it's almost exactly the same size as 2 decks of cards. Whether this meets your definition of "pocketability" depends on what you mean. It'll >fit< in a pocket, but, I wouldn't >quite< call this camera pocketable, because of the width. Basically, unless you're wearing hella baggy clothes, it'll be noticeable if you put it in your jeans/coat pocket. I'm not sure if the S200 meets my definition, either. I'm >hoping< it does, since I've been looking for a digital camera for a couple months now and the Canon S200/S330 seems to have the best image quality/feature set of the ultra-compact digi-cams.

S330 or S300 is not pocketable due to its size. S110 or S200 is the only camera that fit nicely in yout pocket with out bulging out. Unless, you wear one of those MC Hammer pants

my 2 cents.

If you pre-ordered the S200 check your e-mail, looks like they REQUIRE that I respond by 4/17 or else my order will be cancelled.

Now they think the S200 will be shipping 4/29.

Is that an S330 in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?

I can fit the S330 in the front pockets of my khakis, but it's noticeable. Wouldn't try it in back pockets or in jean pockets.

I think it'll ship much sooner after you call them. Maybe this coming week or by this week itself.

Hmm lukfilm

I think they are talking about the new S330. Which I believe is bigger. And can you really fit that in your jeans? front or back pocket?

I think its gonna buge out alot and you would not be able to sit with it in your pocket.

Ok now to the serious stuff. Has anyone tried to install the bundled software in XP pro? I have yet to get mine so I wouldnt know. I ordered the s330 so if anyone can tell me how its going on I would appreciate it alot.
I have read somewhere that says the software are not XP compatible !!!!! so I intent to install and run it under win98 enviroment, XP native.

Wonder whether it will work or not.

wohhooo... pissing contest.... I am not saying you can't put it inside your pocket. You can put a lot of stuff in your pocket but can you sit with it???

Let me put in simple words:
If I put my S110 in my front left pocket and S300 in my front right pocket, my front right pocket will be bulging and you can easily notice that I have "something" in there. If that is what you want, than S300 is pocketable.

AU Tiger: LOL!!!

The S330 is the same size as the S300 and playing with my friend's S330 the other night (she used next day air ) I liked the size better than my old S110 which i had to old with my fingertips to not block any of the front. And I think Pockebility all varies from person to person. For me, it fits with no problems and I can sit down in comfort AND I don't wear MC Hammer pants.

As for the software, I used the s110 software with XP pro and did not have any problems. i don't think Canon would put something out that was not compatible with XP.

Eagerly waiting for the UPS man tomorrow....

just got the 4/29 delay email on my S200... I talked to a dell CSR, she said I can't change the order and keep the 10% + $25 discount, otherwise I'd replace it with the S330. is 640x480 movie mode worth waiting for? if only I could somehow have a camera to use while I'm waiting for my elph, but I don't know if I can wait that long. the dell CSR also said 4/29 wasn't a definite shipping date, that they actually don't know when the camera will be in, so it could be sooner or later

Hmm ... since it sounds like Dell is not shipping S330/S200s for awhile, howabout this for any peeps who haven't gotten in on this deal yet. Order from Amazon, then Amex PM to ECost.com, and get free shipping and free 32mb Viking CF card ($25 value). Any flaws in my logic? Dell's final cost is $350 shipped, versus Amazon $356 shipped - $25 CF card = $331.

Amazon + free shipping = $400
- Amex PM Ecost.com = $356 final cost
- Viking 32Mb CF = $331 value.

so $356 final cost from Amazon with free shipping, free 32Mb Viking CF, and currently listed as "In Stock" and ready to ship in 24hrs. (3:30 EST Apr.15). Oh .. and of course, taxes may still be applied.

Let me know if any of you guys try this.

Why the hell would you carry your camera in your pocket? Then dust, dirt, and fur particles get into your lens. Carry your camera in a case. DUHHHHHHHH!

I've never done an amex pm so I'm a bit hesitant. personally I think it's min. 128mb CF card or nothing, so my deal would be something like this:

S330 + 128mb CF card at Amazon = $400 + $60 - $25 (mem card discount) = $435
I don't know the rules on pm'ing with amex, such as if they care if it's in stock or if they include shipping, but assuming no to both:
pm to eCost's $356 = $44 savings = $391 total

I also noticed that the S330 is showing up as in stock at dell.com, but you know by now to take that with a some skepticism. assuming it is shipping, you have this deal:
S330 + 128mb kingston CF card = $400 + $58 - 10% - $10 coupon = about $402 (for me at least)

that's $11 more than amazon.com, without the hassle of a pricematch and the risk of getting a pm refused, but who knows when you'll get it. like I said, I've unfortunately never taken advantage of a pm so I don't know how much of a sure thing this is.

also, beststopcamera.com has the S330 for $344, bringing the final cost with pm to $379. shopphotoking.com has it for $349, bringing the cost to $384. but this is not counting shipping in the total cost.

for comparison, the S200 was $290, getting a 128mb CF card for let's say $55 would bring it to $345 total. with the best pm of $379, that's only $34 more, I think it's worth it for 3X zoom and faster delivery. any thoughts?

Dude, the lens are tuck inside the camera. Only when you turn it on, will the lens pop out.
