Thanks for the info. If I go with a 2-terminal card which of the 3 wires do I use? Or do I just rotate through the possible combos and see what happensThe three connection cards went out of production long ago. Switching to a modern card will improve both wifi and bt.
I looked at the bios and can't tell. How do I tell? Can I tell?Unfortunately you may be WLAN card white listed in BIOS/firmware.
Two of them should go up behind the screen and those would be my choice. You might be able to just remove the hinge caps to find out which ones or look for the stray that runs down the side or back cover. Thanks for the info. Not worried about the antenna; I just want the bluetooth added for my wireless earbuds. Many of the 2-terminal wi-fi cards come with bluetooth, or so they advertise. Not sure how that works. I'll look at the wire routes. Not that many combos to try anyway. Thanks. Two of them should go up behind the screen and those would be my choice. If you're ambitious you could order better antennas and stick them behind the screen or slide them into the bezel on the sides.
They've been that way for quite awhile now. Back in the day though there were little cards that plugged in independently though like match sticks for BT. I mean for $20 it's not a huge cost for both. Since your primary is just for BT then going with a cheaper $5 card should suffice unless you want better BT distance or the earbuds use a higher revision of BT. Newer cards are always backwards compatible with lower versions but, old cards don't always work with newer devices.wi-fi cards come with bluetooth
