Dell rebate non fulfillment

About 8 months since WD 200gig 200$ rebate ordeal. Still no rebate just passing the buck to and from Dell/WD.

If you surf the dell mail in rebate forum there are tons of customers up in arms. no rebates, wrong rebate amt., some been waiting 10 months.


I lucked out with one of their desktops but based on 8 months of chasing the WD200 rebate and HOURS of time lost have got to say anyone that buys dell better think about the very realistic possibility of waiting and calling and writing not only Dell but the FTC, BBB, TX attorney general and US postal inspector.

I am now also requesting a credit card chargeback based on fraudulent and deceptive business practices.


Good luck if you buy Dell with a rebate enticement, it like "shooting crap" with a "crap company" in this respect.

First of all, you are posting it at the wrong place, it should have been posted to the brag and moan thread. If you're looking for sympathy, I dont think you would get any from this kind of post.
What exactly is your problem? Western Digital provides a rebate tracking link. Does your rebate show up? If it doesn't, I'm not sure how you can blame Dell for this. Did you mail it with certified or return receipt? If you didn't, then there isn't anything you can do, the mail was probably lost.

As I'm sure you'll hear a million times, wrong place for this post.
Second, you're complaining that you didn't get your rebate fulfilled for a deal, how many rebates have you sent for products from Dell? I know numerous ppl who have gotten in on some of Dell's recent computer deals, and have gotten all of their rebates in a relatively fast time frame (up to $200 in no more than 2months). Rather presumptious(sp?) of you to be calling a company "crap" because of one experience of yours.

Maybe the next set of site changes can incorporate a 'Vote to Remove Account' feature. Then, and ONLY then will we ever stop seeing these f*cking Dell rebate threads in the Hot Deals.
