This is odd... they changed it...
If you click on the double memory free ad, you can still pull up that you can get $250 MIR...
But on the actual buy it says:
256MB SDRAM for the Price of 128MB (2X128) (mail-in rebate not available)
With no option for 128 anymore!!
I don't know about you guys, but I would MUCH rather go BUY my 256 meg somewhere else for pennies on the dollar and get my $250 back!!
I am about to call them see what they say!

they changed it while I was calling in... No more $250 off at ALL! Its double memory or nothing!! SUCKAGE!
Oh well.. still a great deal.... (the phone rep said they are canceling the $250 MIR.. better check on it guys!)

He's right the rebate is gone, even though it said until the 13th.
I had 3 of the servers in my cart and just went back and said invalide.

So if you still want one and be able to get the rebate TODAY IS THE LAST DAY!!!!!!!

Make sure you save the screen and print out the rebate now to play it safe.

Just ordered one by phone, CSR said no problem on the rebate.

i called in...they said 'OK on rebate but u gotto buy 256meg ram option'
Meaning +$122 to the order..no more 128meg option.
That means u pay $122 more for 256meg option but get $250 back later...

If you call enough CSR's they will give in. On our 5th one they said "sure."
You can still get the 128M ram but you have to be firm with them, and call enough times.
If you get Mike hang up.

Ended up getting the 512 meg ram... going to see if I can call back today and get them to double that.
As soon as I am sure that the deal goes thru I should have a NICE fast dual proc server coming my way.
If anyone has any killer deals on the second proc and a nice upgrade for the drive, post it!
(Cheapest I find is about $115 on the 1.0ghz p3 and bout $150 on the 30gig scsi drive)

they wouldnt allow me to select the 128M ram option at all,
I have to pay $122 for the 256 to get the $250 rebate. after downgrading the service option to one year my price is
$798 +122 =920-250 rebate

plus the guy acted like i'm not good enough to buy a server from them to use at home.
kept demanding to know what i was gonna do with it.

Mine had an estimated ship date of the 18th. It shipped today per Dell. So, they are getting them out the door....

If they reject your rebate then tell your credit card not to pay the bill.
Dell tried this when I bought the 955df monitor, well they can take it up with my CC. So don't think dell won't try to get out of this.
Heck maybe they ran out of the 1ghz Cpu's and will give you a free upgrade? Never know

Anyone else get theres called the 1300!? I know I ordered a 1400SC... but if I got to order status, it says 1300 as the model.. mistake?? Or plain out bait-n-switch? (perhaps 1400 is dual and the 1300 is single?)
Also, has anyone else had success ordering the VPM?
