Dell selling Q6600 very cheap

Anyway, I was in the market for E6600 and found this.
This Quad system comes to be cheaper than E6600 system Dell is selling and thinking if I should jump on this. The deal expires July 10th.

What do you guys think?

I don't think I really "Need" quad core. But the price is $350 less than exact same Dimension 9200 with E6600.

$1,200 without the 22" monitor. I have a 20" wide already.

I don't like the video card it comes with either, I'll probably get something elsewhere.

Please don't buy it - it's a POS PC other than the processor, which will be $266 in TWO WEEKS!

I know people are always told to wait, but if you wait two weeks, you can have a Q6600 in a PC you build with a 8800GTS for that money.

but i would still custom it as well. You can get a much better board + better GFX card + better air heatsink + quiet 500giger for the near or same price.


The p35 chipset motherboards would spank any dell oem board. even the XPS series, unless they finally started to incorporate it.

Yeah, I might build it. I love Dell case though. They are super solid and stylish. I assume those Dell cases are least $150-200 if not more. Considering the case cost, the price isn't that bad.


Anyway, does anybody know if E6600 and E6700 price is going down as well? I asked a guy at computer part store and he said he heard only Quads are going down.

BS - there is a price drop along the whole line - the new 1333fsb chips will be much cheaper at some levels.

$200 for the Dell case is insane, IMHO.
