i could have told them they were defective 2 years ago. we have 20-30 of those for some latitude c840s. We've had to replace numerous power adapters. I was sooo happy when the D800 finally came out.

Was just going to post this. We have thousands of Dell laptops. Man this is going to suck. heh. But I have one under my desk that is on the list that culd overheat. It's been plugged in for probably a year straight and is still working. heh.

We have about ~100 or so "P/N 9364U" sitting in a huge box at work. Probably another ~40 or so being used by people. I think we will just ignore this recall.

Have to check the adapter on my work issued dell. I suspect this laptop is older than the recall though. Latitude LS's came out in what 96?

We had one that overheated in an old Inspiron. Ended up fusing and melting the 3 power pins from the back of the laptop INTO the connector itself. Luckily it was still under warranty so we got a newer replacement for free. It was a PITA to swap the battery into another laptop just to charge it.
