I got my $687 refurbed 2001FB Friday after ordering it last Sunday. I used the Nokia Monitor Test to check it out. My video connection is analog (built-in nVidia GeoForce4 MX420) limited to 1280 x 1024.
No light bleeding issues that I could detect. My room wasn't pitch black, but I had brightness set at 100% and the room much darker than usual.
No variation of brightness, focus or color across the screen. Every pixel seems the same as every other one.
Dead pixels? No, but I found one green sub-pixel that was stuck on. It's not noticeable under non-testing conditions.
I found the Auto Adjust feature of the OSD's Image Settings (or hit the + button next to the LCD's power button without going into OSD) very helpful in fixing a scaling issue.
"Screen door effect?" Maybe slightly more than my Samsung 191T, but it's a tough call. I don't notice it unless I'm looking hard for it.
Bottom line: a great monitor for a very good price. Refurb wasn't a problem. However, LCD prices continue to decline and the awesome Samsung 213T beckons (currently $900 on eBay). Maybe I can get one for $600 around Christmas time...?
