If anyone was successful getting a pricematch, have any pointers? Dealing with Dell when I ordered this monitor was a nightmare and a half.

Try adding that $899 to your cart..!!!........ It WILL be $999
So there is an error with the site or they are trying to change the price as we speak..!!!
So I would say this is a NO GO...!

Ok, some luck but not the fullest of it. Karen is offering me a $50 credit back to my CC (her ID # is 66304, no direct extensions). She says I can't get the full amt back (which would be $75) because monitors dont qualify under the 30 day price protection policy. This is still cheaper than 25% off 899 (because of the 30$ off coupon) so I'm tempted to take it. She gave me a reference number I could call back with later today or tomorrow so that I have time to think about it. Oh well, I might just go for the $50 and say screw it to the other 25 (plus 10 for not using the 40 off coupon) so 35 in the end...which is still 2-3 hours work =(

Oh well, I'll call them a few more time and see if I can get a better CSR and get the full discount, although Karen was very nice (and didnt hang up on me like the other two did *sigh*)

Test it out at night with the lights out and get an all black display. Dead pixel test black screen, or even your BIOS/CMOS post screen will let you see it for a second or so. Look near the edges of the screen, mostly in the corners, you shouldn't have to look too closely if the room is dark enough, if the edges or corners look like white light is bleeding through, you have the problem. The real question is, can you live with it? Under normal use, you won't really notice it, however if you watch movies in letterbox, or say, if you're a big Tim Burton fan (i.e. cinematography with use of a lot of dark color / negative space) it might be annoying.

Personally I can live with it, so this monitor is staying right here on my desk.
