hey OP, thanks for the post...I never would have know, because I was giving up on the dell LCDs until next year. I got my 25% off, thanks to a lot of e-mail accounts!!!

Did anyone notice that the 1703FP dropped from $399 to $369?? That make it ~ $275 after the coupon! Now all I need is another $xx of $xxx and I'm good to go. If you happen to run across any of these before Christmas, let the forum know!!

The widescreen isn't for gaming though. There'sa big thread over in the Video forum about the pros and cons of this screen.

it came with 1 dead pixel~!!!!! right in the center.

Did anyone elses come with the D-sub cable already attached ?

Thanks guys! Just ordered the 2001fp. I have built myself 4 comps in the last 5 years but have yet to get rid of my 15" crt....it is about time!

Most LCD's are going to have some dead pixels. Fortunately, mine can only be noticed on a completely black backround and there is about 4 of them. Mostly they are isolated to the edges.

When I worked for a large computer mfg. they would only consider an LCD defective if they were in a certain distance from one another, the amount affected, and if they were dead or misfiring.
