Was the 4% for using your DPA automatic? I'm *this* close to buying a pair of these before the deal ends tomorrow (well, today now it's after midnight). Need to find a couple other deals to stack on top of the instant discount.

EDIT: Found instructions on slickdeals for the DPA discount:

To get the DPA discount, you MUST say that you're going to pay with a credit card, up to the last step, when you'll get a banner offering you an additional 4% off to pay with DPA.
Is there a way to take advantage of Dell EPP if I don't have a Member ID of my own?

That's correct - My intention was to pay for this order with a credit card, then when I got to the last step of the checkout, it said I could get an extra 4% off if I signed up for and paid with a DPA.

I'm not sure about using the EPP if you aren't a member, but keep in mind you can get 6% off using coupons floating around on ebay that cost $2.50.

This is now listed at $669 before rebate, so it's $669 - $170 = $499.

I bought one of the 6% coupons off ebay, but they are no longer viable with this rebate because the MPP/EPP site(s) aren't listing the $170 instant rebate. I was looking at this monitor on the EPP site *yesterday* and the instant rebate was showing up. Now today it isn't. So you have to go through Dell Home, and the coupon code isn't valid through that "segment". ARGH! The discount for using your DPA also shifted to only 3% today.

I pulled the trigger on this anyway. Two of them, actually. I sat and stared at the total for a while before hitting the final Submit Order button LOL. Total was $1,034.37. It's like buying a quality car, right? These suckers had better last me a good 7 to 10 years...

Argh, I thought the deal would expire yesterday, which is why I ordered when I did. Where did you read that it expired on 2/26? Where are you reading that it now expires on 3/5? I didn't see a date listed for the promotion on Dell's website.

I need to contact Dell to see if I can get a price correction.

You have to add the monitor to your cart, and then in the cart it'll have a little View Details link next to the rebate(s). When I first posted this thread, the $170 rebate said it expired on 2/26. Yesterday they made a few changes, and apparently implemented a new rebate (for the same amount) that expires on 3/5. The reason I say it's different is because, like I posted above, the $170 instant rebate does not show up when you go into the Dell EPP/MPP site, only through Dell Home (which is why the 6% ebay coupons don't work together with it now). However, the day before yesterday, the $170 (2/26) instant rebate *was* showing up on the EPP site.

I think the only price correction Dell could offer is the $20 lower price, but I believe Dell will basically tell you that you'd have to return your current monitor, and buy a new one at the new price (I don't think Dell does price-corrections, they just make you return & re-order). Since you seem to have used a 6% coupon from ebay, you won't be able to get your same price now.

No, I didn't use an ebay coupon. As I said above, I received a 7% discount for shopping through my university's store, and an additional 4% for paying with my Dell DPA. So yes, I would be trying to get the original price corrected by $20.

Which EPP site were you using? The $170 instant rebate still shows up when I login to my educational EPP site.

The 6% ebay coupon comes with a link that takes you to a specific Dell MPP site (in this case it was for AAA). That site didn't have the instant rebate.

If you just go to the general Dell EPP site it doesn't either.

I called Dell Customer Care at 1-800-624-9897 and was able to get a $20 credit for the price drop. Anyone who bought at the $689 base price should call that number and try to get a credit.

Can normal consumers order online via Dell small business? They do not require you to submit your business' name?

You may enter your personal name as the business. I've never seen it questioned.

Also a good idea to order from Dell Small Business anyhow if you were going to claim the purchase for tax purposes.

does this panel have a lot of input lag (ie, should I wait for bigger e-IPS screens)?

The AT review in May 2008 rated it at 38ms of input lag, gave it the Silver Editors Choice, and said this: "If you're not an extremely competitive FPS gamer, this 24" LCD belongs on the top of your list."

the revA10 input lag is around 16-32 ms. so either 1 or 2 frames lag on a 60 frame per second. i posted some pics of the lagom test in the video/graphic section lcd sticky.

Just tried to do this (was a $36 difference for me) and they said "Dell does not do price protection".

What number did you call? Did you see my post above? I called Dell Customer Care at 1-800-624-9897 and was able to get a $21.65 credit for the price drop. The CSR didn't even hesitate.

On the other hand, my new 2408wfp has a stuck red pixel. Looks like this one is going back unless I can massage it out. Luckily Dell has a 0 dead pixel guarantee.
