It's not really Dell that's allowing it. Intel finally took a page from AMD and made their uber-expensive flagship CPU multiplier-unlocked (like the engineering samples).

So it's not FSB overclocking; you just increase the multipliers up to 18 through the BIOS. HardOCP said they got their dual-core Extreme Edition up to 4GHz with a little voltage, so 3.6GHz without any voltage in a Dell is very feasible.

that is a big WOW for dell, but I bet its exactly what is says, just an option to select 3.4 and 3.6ghz, no freedom to overclock it how you want but still....wow

Whats next? a Windows XP Gaming Edition?, its just one those things thought hell freeze over first...

this is a gaming machine, dell is smart playing this overclocking route for those who dont want to risk frying their equipment for another 400 mhz...
