sold my xps15. happy day, happy day.
screen blacks out when HDMI out enabled. seriously?
Hrmm.. I didn't have this problem at all. Actually was using my laptop all last week on my vacation to Colorado at my relatives place. They had an HDTV and no blu-ray player. I brought my laptop with the blu-ray player and my blu-ray movies. So I hooked it up and got it running no problem.
Well small problem at first. They had their HDMI ports on the TV disabled and it took me a good day to figure out how to enable them again since it wasn't something simple to do in the menu like turning on an option that says, "Enable HDMI" or similar. Instead I had to label the ports first before I got that option. Literally had to put a name to them. Stupid Panasonic plasma.
Anyhow, I plugged it in, messed with the resolution to maximize it, since the laptop defaults to 800x600 or something ridiculously low when the HDMI was plugged in, and was watching movies on the TV at 1920x1080 with no problem.
I will say that the mousepad is a bit iffy sometimes. In that it sometimes counts double taps way to easy. I haven't got the side scroll to work at all either. Then again every mouse pad I've used in the past that had that feature had a little guided area on the right side of the mousepad which had arrows to indicate the "scroll" area to use for that functionality. The mousepad on the xps15 I have doesn't have it so I am assuming that the mousepad doesn't allow this functionality. Which does kind of suck if true.
