I recently got an Inspiron E1505 (delivered 1 day ago). The system itself is fast and I couldn't be happier, but the LCD leaves something to be desired. It strains my eyes and has a dead pixel in the upper right quartile of the screen. I chose the 15.4' non Truelife screen, and am sorely regretting it now. Both the 15.4', and the 15.4' Truelife come out to be the same price on Dell's ordering page. Do you think I can somehow get them just to ship a replacement monitor under the premise that I could install it myself? I've ordered from Dell numerous times before but I have never had any problems with my other purchases, so I am a little hazy on how the return/repair/money back system works.
edit: WOW! After an hour and a half of talking with a representative in India, Dell is sending me a 15.4' TrueLife LCD replacement monitor for my e1505!!! FREE OF CHARGE! My concern now is how do I go about replacing the screen? I have heard you need a glasses screwdriver kit, but has anyone had experience with replacing a screen on an e1505 or inspiron 6400? Thanks!!!
