I'm looking for a high air pressure cooling fan that ideally makes 55dB noise or less. When I search ebay for 150mm Delta fans, all that shows up is dozens of new and used AFC1512DG's for sale.

I find no ratings (cfm, air pressure, dB) anywhere for this model, and Delta doesn't list it on its site. Does anybody know specs for this fan, or what the deal is that it's their most popular model yet they don't acknowledge its existence? Is it possibly a knock-off?

DG168 is a Dell part number, which is weird.

[Temperature Range]: -10 - 70 ¡ã C
[Life expectancy]: (25 ¡ã C) L10 life expectancy of 50,000 hours
[Bearings]: Maintenance-free double ball bearing
[Rotation]: air discharged from the stent, the face of the rotor counterclockwise rotation
[Maximum air volume]: 440.0 m3 / h (259 cfm)
[Motor Protection]: overload protection
[Wind pressure]: 123 Pa
[Noise Indicator]: 56.5 dB (A)
[Material Material]: Glass fiber reinforced plastic, PBT housing, PA blade

Darn it. Somebody went and bought it, and Global Supplies Express won't show its specs anymore now that it's not in stock. That's stupid. I want to know it's "static pressure" rating, even though that's technically meaningless.

Delta fans like this are commonly found in servers, which is likely why you found a Dell part number. HP, Supermicro, etc, if it's not a Delta it's probably a Sanyo. These fans are never designed with quiet in mind. There's often also a warning not to use a bunch of them with a fan controller because their power draw is too high.

However, these fans also aren't designed for high static pressure, they're designed for airflow. Assuming you're looking for a fan for a radiator, you'd be better off with a consumer fan designed for a radiator.

I've been using the AFC1512DG fan for several years. It was used in the Precision 490 workstation to replace the typical Delta AFC1212DE fan used in just about everything Dell made, or the similar Nidec BetaV,or NBMatsushita. 120mmX38mm fans. Those draw from 1.3 to 1.6A. and flow about 150CFM at full speed. They get very loud when at full speed. The AFC1512DG doesn't need to run full speed to produce the same air flow. So in actual use it's much quieter. In fact it moves enough air at idle it rarely ever speeds up. It was a Dell only product as far as I know. NC466,DG168, MC527 are all good numbers. MC527 comes with the mounting cage. It comes with a Dell 5 pin connector, and the pinout is non standard. I use it in Dells so it doesn't bother me. The mounting holes are 1/4"-6mm. There are rubber mountings for this.

I might add that these were used in 2x 130W CPU workstations where noise was a consideration. Not in server racks where 1 smaller hi speed fan per CPU was typical, and noise didn't matter.
There is an aluminum frame version of this. You can spot it by the rounded corners, and straight motor support arms. It appears to be drilled for standard 140mm x1/8" mounting holes. Same Dell DG168 part#. 5 blade vs. 7 blade also.
I am seeing a white connector on these, so maybe they have standard 4 pin wiring and not the Dell 5 pin plug the older ones had?

This is my first time hearing about a 150mm PC fan.... thats a very odd size fan.... what is the OEM case / maker these fans normally found in?

They were in the Dell Precision 490 and some other older 2CPU workstations.
Dell # MC466, DG168, and MC527 Will bring them up on Ebay. The DG168 is nice because it usually comes with the odd sized wire grille to keep fingers out. MC527 include a plastic housing.
The other 150mm fan is the San Ace 150. Vaneaxial and weighs less.
9GV1512P5HO3 (03?) is the 300cfm 4 wire version. 2.9A will require a dedicated fan controller.
These are all 50mm thick fans. The fan motor on these is about 2" diameter so expect a big dead spot there on a radiator unless you space it out. They were never meant to hang off of an ATX heatsink.
