I despite Delta. I've refused to use them ever since they ruined one of my Christmas vacations in high school. They didn't even offer any compensation or apologize. Disgraceful.

You must have never flown Emirates. =)

No...

I have flown TATL in the following (listed by order of preference):

1. Lufthansa ... A333, A343, A346, B744, B748, (A342), (DC-10)
2. United ... B752, B763, B772
3. Delta ... B763, B764, (MD-11), (B762)
4. US Airways ... A332
5. Austrian ... B772
6. Virgin Atlantic ... A346
7. SAS ... A343

TWA ... (B742), (L1011)
PAN-AM ... (B741)

Most flights of course in economy. I fly UAL E+ and have flown Delta BusinessElite many times. Obviously, Delta BizElite is the nicest experience but otherwise United E+ or Lufthansa 747-8 service is the best.

And Denilfloss died after contracting a disease while sitting next to a woman on an airplane that was sick.

Sometimes the airlines have to be unfair to individuals in order to be fair to a plane load of people.

"passenger next to her reported to a flight attendant that she looked tired and drowsy"

Hmm, so the potential for catching sleepiness is enough to kick off all tired and drowsy flyers? Boy I bet that affects a healthy percentage of flyers to begin with. And those f-ing business and first class people are provided seats that turn into bed. WTF?

My worst experience was flying American after a week-long conference in Utah in March. My flight was delayed from takeoff an hour because O'Hare was socked in with fog. Not a big deal, but I arrived at the gate with time to get my connecting flight...but they didn't hold the flight for me. I was at the gate just after the plane was backing out...at 7pm that Friday night. I went to the American desk and asked them when the next flight was... They told me 8am on Tuesday because they were booked solid. Then they told me I'd have to pay for a hotel because it was a weather-related incident. I slept in the concourse on a cot....got up at 4:30am and booked another flight the next day. I stay away from them out of spite now.... I've had delays with Delta, but have always been compensated and treated like a valued customer....they don't go out of their way unless you ask, but they are a lot better than AA.

I prefer Delta over United. Unfortunately I'm flying United-Lufthansa (not looking forward to it) next month, assuming that volcano in Iceland doesn't blow its top.

I assume you're flying business:

The new 747-8's are pretty nice on the top deck. The older 747-400's are pretty shit.

omg my coworker flew emirates b-class over the weekend and it's better than I remembered it.

They get solo seats now - the seat that used to be a neighbor is now a holding station for all your crap.

Agreed though, Emirates A-380 appears to be > *

When I flew with them 18 months ago:

best way regardless of airline is upper deck on a 747. so sad to see them being slowly retired.

Sorry, emirates a380 > top deck 747.

Caveat: have not been top deck 747 when top deck is first class

Delta has some of the best flight stats of all the major US airlines, at least they did when I last checked.

AA is shit though, screw them. I don't remember ever having a flight with them that wasn't messed up in some way on at least one of the legs. Cancelled flights due to flight crew not showing up, missing connections due to late flights, luggage arriving on a different flight, etc...

LMAO!

I have heard, DELTA: Doesn't Ever Leave The Airport.

I think it's Divert every luggage to Atlanta.

anyway, Delta's frequent flyer program is pretty poor (sky pesos anyone?) but United is quickly trying to overtake them with delays and devaluing the FF miles/program.

LOVE Delta. Maybe it's because they're ATL-based? I am biased.

LOVE Coke.

if you ever sit next to me and so much as let out a cough or a sneeze, i will ask that you be removed and quarantined. if they are unable to remove you, you remain a threat to all passengers and i will personally beat the 'stupid' disease out of you. one of us will not be on that plane.

WTF are you babbling about?

The airlines have to make decisions about the health and safety of there passengers all the time and the airlines are not the only ones that have to do so. And there is a difference between the guy that has the occasional cough and someone spitting up there lung.

I don't think you'll see too many airlines tossing someone with a controlled cough even though that person may very well pass on his cold/flew to other(s) on the plane as you'd be hard pressed to get any group larger than about 30 or so where someone doesn't have a cold etc. But, if someone is coughing up bloody lung tissue do you think the airline should be permitted to deny that person a seat on there plane?

What is your point -- what should the policy be and do you as a passenger get to overrule the airline if you insist you want to fly?

I've never really had a bad experience with customer service on any airline - always been able to talk myself to the right person and get what I needed.

That said I refuse to fly Delta because they have the oldest fleet of planes of any airline in the US. Which means crappier seats than normal. Typically fly US Air (due to it being a hub in Philadelphia) but I like United and American in many situations as well,
