Doesn't matter how obscure the outlet to whom she said the stupid thing. It's still stupid. Comes across as a parody of political correctness, but sadly it wasn't meant as a parody.

I take nothing she says remotely seriously. Not even the non-binary part.

As to whether CNN should cover it, of course they shouldn't because it's a frivolous waste of time. But the same could be said of so, so many stories about stupid crap that celebrities say.

As to the general point, I know one trans person at the moment. She happens to identify as non-binary. I had assumed she was FtM, and had referred to her as "he." But I heard others referring to her as "her," while others said "he." I asked why this didn't bother her, and she said she thinks "they" is ridiculous because she is one person who identifies as two genders, not two people of different genders. I asked what I should call her, and she said, "either one. I identify as both and am not offended by either."

I knew I had felt uncomfortable with "they" but I think she put the nail on the head of why that is.

I didn't see society falling apart because of this.
