I just watched this game at my friends house. Looks like tons of fun. Sadly, no mac, xbox 360, or ps3 version. So all I can do is watch and say. Yea that looks great.

I played a game with a friend, 2v2 on crucibel and we both took rook and built towers closing them in on their side of the map while we took all 3 flags. It was pretty jokes. we rushed past their first set of towers, set up our own, and got exp from their creeps rushing against our towers while our creeps died behind us to their towers (and they didnt get the exp).

yeah, tower rook is quite powerful. i was playing SP tournament, where my computer allies are worthless (yet the enemy AI seems to do pretty well).

at first i went for a tank and got owned. then i went towers and was near untouchable. damn towers

I debated getting this or Drakensang today. Drakensang won out. From what I hear the game is buggy. When I hear that I automatically wait until a patch is out and I see positive feedback on it before purchasing.

Bugs affecting playability have pretty much been ironed out. I can connect to most games within 15 seconds. There's still some annoyances like favor points and achievements not saving, but Stardock seems to be working very hard on fixing any remaining issues.

I would agree with you if I only played 2v2 and 3v3, but 4v4 and 5v5 games are a nightmare man. Gameranger is a lot better for those.

Played a 2v2 on crucibel today, was losing slightly due to my teammate being terribad, and at the point when I was level 8 and he was level 4, I started to smacktalk my ally in chat. I was (I think) understandably frustrated, and as we played on I begged him to quit the game as I would be better off with an AI. To my surprise thats exactly what he did, and sure enough I went on to win that game 1v2. It was quite the triumph - unfortunately I never got the chance to thank my ally for leaving and doing the team a favor.

Fixed for you. I really wish Demigod didn't have the dota "community," like in this case. How is the guy ever supposed to learn if nobody is going to help him?

yep, that's the worst thing about DoTA style play. I really haven't run into anybody bad yet - the AI has always turned out to be far, far worse than any of my teammates.

Actually, I join 4v4 games just fine. I haven't really tried 5v5 because I think 3v3 and 4v4 are the sweet spot for Demigod. The smoothness of connecting recently may be because the initial connection problems have weeded out the people who don't know how to forward ports though. I haven't tried Gameranger because the thought of playing with online with pirates annoys me somewhat.

Besides that, I have come to realize that the game does need some balancing now that I have some experience with strategies. Regulus, Torch Bearer, Sedna, and QoT have serious problems keeping up after about level 15. As Unclean Beast or Oak, those heroes might as well be fodder for me in the later stages of the game.

Edit: It's also interesting to note that 2 new demigods are in the works now.

Sweet, so you're a total ass. But apparently you somehow think this is cool as you continually brag about it

If anything I was bragging about my skill in the game, not about being an ass. I can only tolerate so much badness in my teammates, I only have so much patience. Average players, thats fine, slightly below average, tolerable. When my only teammate clearly drinks from lead pipes and is half my level in the game, that is when I think it is fair for the gloves to come off. I did try to teach him what to do but he was a lost cause and I wanted to win. He didn't actually talk back so either he wasn't english or perhaps in his calculating of his complex strategy he didn't have enough brain cells left to respond. I'm thinking the latter though since he did quit when I asked him to.

I play to win, pal.

Winning a computer game doesn't mean anything in life, but being a decent person does.
Try playing for fun. Win or lose, who cares?

This game actually looks very cool and I was thinking of getting it. However, I am somewhat concerned about the fact I would most likely be terrible at the game and would do nothing but annoy my teammates.

Is it that difficult to pick up? I don't have oodles of time to play, but it looks like this would be fun to jump on and have a quick match, however if I am way behind the learning curve I could just get frustrated, especially if I have to play with teammates that are so much better than me.

Its not too difficult once you get into it, I think the main thing is pick a demigod that you're good at and learn the in/out of that one.

I have a friend who goes 0-8 on average in DoTA games when he's on a good team, and he's done pretty well in Demigod in his first few games. I think it's definitely a lot easier to get reasonably good at.

I know nothing about DoTA, aside from the fact it is somewhat Warcraft related. If I am understanding correctly, Demigod is essentially an RTS, except you don't have to worry about controlling individual units very much, which sounds very appealing to me.

Its a mix between RTS and capture the flag really. Add in special items to power up your heroes and getting power-ups when you level up.You get experience by fighting other players (Demigods) or cannon fodder (AI enemy) or capping flag/points.

if you ask your teammate to leave, you're an ass. try to help them get better. otherwise, they'll never learn and just quit the game instead.
