oh pardon. I was just saying that as a general point about things she addressed. It's good.

Tonight I'm looking forward to pete and Tim.

I really don't know why we need Bill Clinton speaking at all. But he is right before Walz, who ends the night. It should be Mayor Pete, then Walz, just hit them with the 1-2 punch of those two, clinton is stale. He was never a cool president like he tried to be. Only Jimmy Carter and Obama have been actually cool in the last half century.
Carter looks much better in retrospect than he did when he was actually in office. I lived through the high inflation, high interest rates, and gas shortages during his term. His post presidency activities have certainly proven him a great human being though, who lives his religious beliefs, unlike Trump, who just uses his supposed beliefs to gain political favor. I respect him more as a person than anyone who has been president in my lifetime.

Mayor Pete is certainly a great speaker, and very knowledgeable even when he doesn't have a script. IMO, he is the only Dem who can compete with Obama as a speaker/debater. In a more tolerant country, I would have loved to see him as the VP nominee.

Events like this are a good way to raise people's profiles for the future. Obviously it's important to address the election that's coming up but it's vital to have a bunch of qualified good candidates ready for future elections. Hopefully he'll have a big role in the future.

Yea, for the same reason, it is too bad that Biden didnt drop well before the primaries. Harris would probably still have received the nomination, but it might have been a good showcase to see some younger, up and coming faces in the party. Barring that, it might have made the Dems realize that they need to be grooming some moderate candidates for the future that have broad appeal to undecided voters.

I don't know either; but a lot of folks still think of Bill Clinton as the pinnacle of POTUS within our lifetime. In reality, he was just in the right place at the right time as the early Internet economy boomed.

I don't know of anybody that thinks of Billy in any positive way. Despicable person in every way. I don't think much more of him than I do Donny.

While I absolutely thought that it was time for Biden to go I can see why he was reticent about it. Politics in the US is run by focus groups and polls, but things like that are a snapshot of how things are in the moment. They don't take account of what happens if you get a good candidate some exposure.
Bidens advisors were telling him that he was the only hope to stop Trump from getting in. I truly believe that Biden was wanting to stand again out of duty not because he didn't want to give up power to someone else.

Nah, Democrats win elections when they bother to vote. Chasing the mythical "undecided voter" is a waste of energy and pisses off the base. The Democrats need to deliver on their platform.

I think Obama and now Kamala is showing that actually yes you can put forward progressive candidates and still get undecided voters. It's literally happening right now in front of our faces. And it's amazing to see.

I think when Democrats message better, take a tougher stance like they are now, and put forth the right candidates they can stick to meat and potatoes Democratic values that excite the base, and still reach out to the middle.

Of course right now Trump being so bad is also helping but you still got to put forth the right candidate and messaging

There's definitely some Democrats who still fondly remember Bill Clinton and he wasn't a bad president he wasn't that good but he was acceptable. But the myth of Bill Clayton now is a little outdated. Let's face it, I think considering where the Democratic party has gone over the last 25 years, Bill Clinton is a fossil. I understand having to do the past the torch things, but I thought what they did on Monday was great and covered it perfectly. Why resurrect the bones of Bill Clinton right now? And especially putting him ahead of fucking mayor Pete. It's not like some dreadful decision that's going to hurt the party but it's still not a good one

Best President in my lifetime. Shit worked good, shit got done.
Pay increased during this tenure
Benefits became better during his tenure
Vacations became more accessible during his tenure
It was also very easy to tell a shitty employer to fuck off and find a new job within hours.
Sure we can not pick about the crime bill but at that time it made sense

Considering that a relatively small number of voters in a handful of states were decisive in 2016 and 2020, it's funny to hear we don't need those mythical votes.

Add me to the list that wishes if Bill was speaking at all, it would be early and not in a prominent position.

He's nothing like the old Bill speaking-wise, for one thing. That pesky age thing gets all of us. Then the baggage. He really isn't a great guy.

All that said, it likely will mean zippo the day after either way. Walz is likely to make everyone very quickly forget about whatever blather Bill wheezes out.

We don’t need those shit heads. We have tried it and it always fails or we get a seat like Manchin who does nearly nothing to move the ball forward

Look who's the snowflake now. Oh they are so mean, they're getting "personal".

“Did you see Barack Hussein Obama last night taking little shots? He was taking shots at your president and so was Michelle,” Trump said at a campaign rally in Asheboro, North Carolina. “You know, they always say, ‘Sir, please stick to policy, don’t get personal,’ but they’re getting personal all night, these people.”

The Democrats are finally learning how to deal with bullies while still being classy and saying the right things. That's all people wanted to see, the Democrats fight. These types of narcissistic bullies can't handle that .

Not true. It requires a GPA in the top 10% of graduates from that year. Depending on the year that’s likely to be between an A- and A.

Sincerely,

Someone who graduated from the same university one year later than AOC with magna cum laude honors
I understand at a less than stellar school you could be in the top of the class with a B average. A person shitting on AOC's intelligence while defending Lauren Boebert of all people is hilarity. I would guess at Boston University you'd have to be way above the minimum. Her not being valedictorian means something to the MAGA though. Boebert having to take the GED tests 4 times to pass should have automatically exempted her from being a congress woman. I fucked around in high school and ended up having to get my GED. If you can't pass it your 1st try something's wrong with you, 4 times? She has to be slow.

BC isn’t easy to get into (~15% acceptance rate)…from HS it’s recommended a 3.99 gpa and 1450 SAT to be considered.

A not-Ivy League Ivy League school.

Idk, it’s esoteric and university dependent. Wouldn’t surprise me if a normal person didn’t know. It’s stupid as shit regardless to say it isn’t impressive. I graduated with lots of really smart people with B averages.
I was happy to graduate with a just above B average in one of the hardest majors of my university, which was known for its general difficulty and grade deflation (and in the department, the average grade was a C+). Even went on to get a PhD in the field...

BC != BU. But both are competitive schools that provide a good education.

Hell, anybody seen him lately? I just hope he doesn't come off like Biden at this point.
