I'm pissed ABC isn't airing this live in my area (west coast). Anyway I see this debate as sort of pointless, Clinton has to come out swinging so maybe it gets interesting.

Some lady questioned Obama's patriotism because he doesn't wear a flag pin.

Obama is at the top of his game.. by that I mean he is using his usual tactic of broadening the context after a personal attack and it is working. I saw it coming after Clinton went on about Bosnia, he didn't attack her but instead grouped those attacks to those against him and then went on about his platform and it killed.

Moderator: We doubt your patriotism but we notice you wore a flag lapel yesterday. Are you really a patriot?
Obama: Why the hell do you think I'm running for president? Quit this petty crap!
Moderator: Okay, okay. You sat near a man who bombed buildings when you were 8 years old. What do you have to say for yourself?!"

Oh boy, any bets on what their final question is gonna be? I wish they'd ask about their odds of winning but I imagine they're just gonna ask if they'll support the nominee (with Clinton giving an indirect answer)

I won't lie. It was a good answer to the question. i'm more worried about how she kept bringing up ideas to throw billions at problems and 'invest' in other ideas, instead of simply cutting costs and raising revenue to kill the deficit

Thanks ABC for maybe the worst of the 21 debates so far. I realize many of these debates lack substantive policy talk, but that was all tabloid crap.

Obama made similar remarks regarding tackling climate change. He refused to acknowledge that maybe US citizens need to do something themselves and basically told the people, "don't worry about it, keep driving, keep polluting and I'll pump billions into a "Manhattan-style" project to clean up after you."

That comment, to me, felt particularly like a vote-grab. I believe it is irresponsible to take any burden off of people and retain the faith that we can solve the problem with some as-yet undiscovered technology.

The first 45 min or so was, but I felt it was pretty good after that. I'm watching Anderson Cooper right now and all they seem to be focussed on is the tabloid BS (Bosnia, Wright etc.) but that's typical of CNN. I think we got some interesting bits of info about gun control, climate change and foreign policy, even if none of it was especially new. After this much campaigning and this many debates it's difficult to procure any really new information.

I watched two agonizing hours of that crap debate. I wanted to give both of them dope slaps for lousy answers. Maybe its conceit, but I think I could have done a far better job of arguing either side.

On the plus side, neither went really negative on the other. I am am fully confident that come the general election, it will be McCain as the one without any real answers.
