All I'm hearing out of this convention is social injustice, income inequality, how thugs are somehow victims. Illegals need to be protected from deportation. Universal healthcare. LGBTQ rights. The race card. The victim card. The woman card. All fine and good, those things need to be addressed and we have laws on the books that protect all those various classes. I'm hearing a lot of catering to the entitlement crowd, typical of the Democrats, as of late. What they're not talking about is bothering me and why I think Hillary is going to lose.
I'm not hearing about the things the angry electorate cares about.

Each and every baby born in this country is a citizen *by definition*. The 14th amendment lays it out as black letter law. It's been that way for almost 150 years.
As a nation, we have obligations to those children, the first of which is to treat them with equanimity. That really extends to not deporting any of their parents because of residency status. I think American children, all of them, should have that right. They're ours & we should do the best we can for all of them.

If someone's been in the US long enough to raise kids to some age, it's not uncommon that they had or developed some sort of support network. For example it might well be other illegal immigrants or whatever they have some implicit pact with.
Regardless, this requirement for "vast majority of cases" is odd since I'm pretty sure nobody ever made that claim in the first place.

This is of course all besides the point that the problems we face with immigration aren't from refugees of currently hot conflicts. Nor does it mean that even those seeking asylum from conflicts shouldn't be subject to immigration laws and procedures, not just "Sneak in! It's okay cause things are really bad back home! I don't think you know how it was originally meant, since it's functioning the way it was intended. They weren't stupid enough to not have considered the concept of "anchor baby" back then. For as ambiguous and open to interpretation some of the Amendments are, there really is no ambiguity to the way this was written: "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside."And in the meantime, the whole country should rework the 14th amendment through the proper ways put in place to function more as it was originally meant, not as a loophole for creating anchor babies. The idea is outdated and should be addressed logically.
