What's worse is that the politicians feed into it. They tell their own people to put off having kids, live life, fuck dozens of guys/girls, then, when your peak fertility years are gone and your career is all you have, import a bunch of immigrants to fill the void. Look at Europe now. The motives have been laid bare by juncker, no more European inbreeding.

Secondly, YEAH, the debates will surely be Must See TV! I have absolutely no idea how it will shake out, either. I do think Trump will go on an all-out attack. And I'm not sure how Hillary, who will likely try to remain "above the fray", will come across. Evasive or serene? I'd like to see her try strategically counter-punching in order to blow the wig right off the Donald, but w/o getting sucked into a kindergarten level shite-show.

One predicitlon: The debates will set viewership records.

I'm going to guess the moderators will keep Trump more on topic, I also assume Hillary's team is talking to great physiologist to find words that will utterly piss off narcissists. Trump speaks better/more entertaining but isn't too organized. Hillary is a stiff unnatural speaker but a great debater.

Side note on Trump he had a comedy central roast and got so pissed off at the comedians making fun of him one or two of them can't go to Trump properties. Kind of strange to volunteer for a intensive ribbing but then being so pissed you hate them. I do wonder how many practice "Hillary" impersonators Trump will go thru before the debates.

I would say the opposite. Its seems there is a small cadre of posters who feel compelled to answer every criticism of the DNC with a conspiracy theory or dissertation, not to mention the DNC nomination had more contention to it due to the Sanders and indictment narrative.

Trump is polarizing and the RNC was a circus. Not much room for debate.

And, let's face it, it's a lot easier to tear down the Dems than to build up the Repubs & Trump.

Trickle down economics & Neocon foreign policy have been a disaster for the middle class yet it's still what Repubs preach today. Years of Congressional obstruction are designed to hold on to the class warfare gains of their ideology expressed in the tax code & our system of corporate governance. Faux "values" & a series of overblown "scandals" help keep the base crazified & everybody else trying to keep their heads above water in a roiling sea of FUD & wedge issues.

Their message is empty because their ideology is a failure for all but a very few.

I don't think Trump's antics will play well in the larger audience because this is where it gets serious. As Kaine says, Clinton is ready. She's worked at being that way for decades & is probably working on it right now. Facts, figures, analysis, plans, alternate strategies. For everything, including Trump. She uses a lot of help in the process. Her emotional control in adversarial situations is near absolute.

I'm not sure that Trump even knows what any of that means. He's just winging it on the well honed instincts of a very talented con man. He also has poor emotional control.

She can definitely get to him if she sets her mind to it. I don't think that the opposite is true.

How she'll come across is likely the way she came across dealing with Gowdy & the Benghazi inquisition which is to say very calm & together. Or she could come out swinging because Trump really leads with his chin.

I haven't watched the conventions but my wife has been glued to the TV for both. As a result I've gotten bits and pieces of speeches.

I did see about 5 minutes of Hillary's speech and I agree on her being a mediocre public speaker. We're coming from Obama who was a very good public speaker and it's going to be a challenge for anyone to compare...

But damn Hillary needs a voice coach or some sort of regimen to prepare for reading prepared speeches. From what I saw last night, it seemed like she received the speech 20 minutes prior.

She really is a terrible speaker, but she's a completely different person under pressure and placed in a different setting--say, at a hearing. Did you ever see any of the Bengazi BS that she had to sit through for 11 hours?

She can kill it in a debate/question and answer setting. If Trump comes with his usual attack-dog, gradeschool playground strategy of pedestrian insults, she will eat him alive. She has the wit to take people down when she allows herself to deploy it. Trump doesn't have an answer for anything related to policy, both domestic or foreign (which we already know he hopes his VP will be in charge of) and she isn't going to let him answer every question with "I will make American great!"

But she does need something like that in the following months because she puts people to sleep standing behind a podium--and voters by and large vote on simple crap like that.
