I'm sorry.
I don't believe in these polls. Didn't Hillary have a commanding lead over Trump to only lose the election?
It's just a poll. I have no party.
Hillary did win the popular vote by +2%. Pretty sure that’s exactly where the polls had her just before the election.
I'm sorry.

I find it funny that everyone seems to conveniently forget a last minute spoiler (Comey reopening the BS investigation only to shut it down a week later) turned the polls and the actual range of potential outcomes.
There is no way ANY poll could be accurate with a bomb thrown last minute like that.
And yet, the narrative is the polls were wrong, and the pollsters are all in on some big conspiracy. Derp.
Mmmmmaybe.Yes, but the polls did not quite accurately reflect the swing states which flipped for Trump at the last minute.
And that is due solely to the last minute bomb thrown by Comey.
I'm sorry.

Welcome to my InfoFarce talk...
Oh, I wasn't making that counter-point. I was saying that it wasn't the ONLY thing that might have played a role in things.Oh come on. You cannot say that last minute bomb from Comey had no negative effect for Clinton.
Cambridge Analytica, Jill Stein, and the GRU also deserve some credit for those swing states.Yes, but the polls did not quite accurately reflect the swing states which flipped for Trump at the last minute.

BUT thats before 150 million Russians vote...

What did Comey himself do? He reported the reopening of the Clinton case to the oversight committee. Congressional oversight then leaked it to the press. Comey fucked up but he was screwed either way.Yes, but those efforts had been ongoing for over a year. The last polls showed a Clinton advantage. And then the bomb from Comey dropped.

It was Cambridge Analytica and the Russian influence machine in conjunction with Comey’s reopening that had the real impact on voters. It’s objectively absurd to think Comey alone reopening the case persuaded enough voters to not vote for Clinton that late in the game to swing the election.
The impact of the influence operation and syncing the messaging with Trump’s rhetoric is where the damage was done. The Comey memo played into that operation.
Blaming it all on Comey seems like a convenient scapegoat when there was a well documented and sophisticated Russian military operation working in the background.

Looking at what happened with Brexit might help explain just how powerful a well targeted influence operation can be in such a short period of time.OK, the topic here is the narrative that the polls called the race incorrectly. Not who blew the election or who influenced it. But why, exactly, the last polls the week before the election predicted the wrong outcome.
And only one thing happened that would have made the polls taken a week before the election flip so dramatically in such a short time. And that was the last minute breaking news that Comey was reopening the investigation. Only a bombshell like that could make the polls taken just before it so inaccurate.
