Yep. I'm in CT..It's a load of crap honestly. I was 3 days away from being a criminal because I had two 17 round mags that I didn't "register" with the state.

It's a joke honestly. What good is the state doing limiting me.. a law abiding citizen who passed all their checks. And now I can't ever buy an AR either. I'm just glad they at least still give us the right to carry.

I do tend to aree though, republicans do tend to oppose ANY legislation in relation to guns. CT (other than the dumb new laws) has a pretty good system in place that I think should be federally implemented. It would at least help to keep guns out of some of the wrong hands.

OP is correct in a ham handed kind of way, the Democratic party lacks white guys. Similar to how the Tea Party lacks young people or the Republicans lack Hispanic. It only makes sense to reach out to the people you are missing to attract more votes.

Democrats are under this delusion that only old rich white people vote republican. I work with many people who are not white and who ARE conservative. Frankly, I think in the past two POTUS elections, people didn't believe B.O. would be elected, then elected again. This time people will wise up and get off their asses and vote. Liberal / Progressive ideology is never going to build this country back up to what she once was. America is no longer the greatest country in the world and that's really sad.

It is not designed too, hence the term "fundamentally transform" it has to destroy what it was first in order to transform it in to something else.

It will replace individual liberty with government mandate, Obamacare is a prime example, and control the populace by government dependence.

Which is why Progressive Liberals are big government and we have an ever growing welfare system that has already exceeded 1 trillion a year.

My point was, say in TX or FL you can basically go in to a gun store, show them that you are 18 via a drivers license, and walk out with a gun.

In CT, you need to pass vigorous steps in order to walk into that same store to purchase a gun. It a deterant to some nut who wants a gun quick to go off somebody. That's all I am in support of. Not limiting which guns you can purchase or how many..Just making it harder for that mentally unstable guy to go get one.

So when they take that away too, you'll just be disappointed, huh?

Mixed in with that hard work was a sense of family values. Parents took care of their children, took time with their kids, and provided for their families.

What was not mixed in with that hard work was taking your daughter to an abortion clinic, or giving your job away to an immigrant who was willing to work for less money, or letting the government ban your grandfathers rifle.

The family values that republicans represent are core family values. Values that most Americans hold true.

The only hope liberals have is to corrupt the minds of children. We all know how much liberals hate children in general. If you loved children, you would not want to see so many killed.

As democrats raise the liberal baby killing and gay rights banner ever higher, the party is driving white male voters to the republicans and third parties.

The only hope democrats have in the years to come is to legalize millions of new voters. Which will create massive problems for social programs. But who cares about paying for food stamps and helping working class families get a college education as long as minority teenage girls can kill their unborn children at will.

Only other thing would be making it law that guns need to be locked up if minors are present in the home. Obviously it's a great idea to do so regardless, but it's not enforceable. It's really only enforceable via random police checks (never happening, nor should it) or when it's too late. So really, it does nothing.

Nothing really can help. It's a culture thing, yadda yadda yadda I'm beating a dead horse.

My wife and I recently moved. I had no problem getting a new drivers license, or getting registered to vote. In fact, it was pretty easy.

When I got my new drivers license the Texas department of public safety sent my county my updated address. The county then sent me my new voting card.

Overall, the process was very easy.

My retirement assets have nearly tripled under Obama, the country may not need Obama but I sure do. If a Republican is our next President I will be exiting the market with all due haste. I don't remember all the details, but weren't the guns just laying around in the open? If the mom put them all in a gun locker, locked it and never told the son the combo, he never would have had access to them in the first place.

Also, things like Newtown are indeed terrible, but are not the problem. Mass murders account for a very small % of actual gun deaths per year. Like I said, it's a social and cultural problem.
