Let me get this straight...It isn’t entirely based on economics at all. It’s a cultural reaction primarily, not an economic one.
You want to argue that people who were wealthy enough to not work on Jan 6th. To travel clear across the country. That THEY weren't a shining example of poor Whites?
Yes, whales are whales. That could be a wonderful argument, but Guppies are still real and vastly outnumber your hand picked demographic of fat asses with nothing better to do.
Cannot see if that article wanted to speak of voters in general, cause of paywall, but if you think economics isn't an issue after 40 years of creating The Gap in wages, and if you think hatred of others does not start with "they're taking your shit".... what planet are you even on? This is America, and Americans of ALL colors are not doing well with the economics of this country. Not with decades of depressed wages and skyrocketing costs in housing and healthcare. For my generation, our parents had it better than us.
If our people were in a good place, they wouldn't be so easy for charlatans to agitate.
And just what the hell is wrong with wanting to sell a better America... to ALL Americans?
To not ignore or denigrate the largest voting bloc in a country where we hope to keep or gain a majority? Going to need the majority to be a majority. It is low hanging fruit ripe for the picking. And as the 2016 and 2020 elections demonstrate, the Rust Belt is a vital battleground of people living month to month and resenting their lot in life. They were left behind in the 90s, why the heck did we let Trump speak to them first? It should have been us. It still could. I do not want to abandon the idea that we can, and should, campaign for something better.
