I was blown away the other day when eating at a Denny's. Food was great, service perfect and they remodeled the store recently to more of an open atmosphere. Could not believe it. I eat out just about every day, sometimes 3 times a day because I travel all the time and Denny's was better than most if not all places I have visited in the past few months. I am a very picky eater and always expect good service.... I sound like a advertisement for them.. Oh well, go eat at Denny's.

hmm... Very Good... no.

It isn't *terrible* breakfast food, but I would hardly say it is very good. It is also probably quite unhealthy, even compared to other breakfast places.

Denny's in Japan is awesome. Completely different menu than in the US, and the food is excellent. Same logo, so easily recognizable.

I really want to go to Denny's. I rarely eat out, soon as I get out of the house, I plan on it. Denny's is awesome, my mouth is watering thinking about it right now.

I gotta admit... Denny's is pretty good "road food". It's consistently decent, so you have a good idea of what you're getting.

I like Waffle Houses instead when I'm visiting down South, though... I like the hospitality better.

Most breakfast places, especially the large chains have in all gone downhill big time, most of them are hardly even edible any more.

I will have to give Denny's a try soon I guess and do a little compare/contrast.

I can't even say Denny's and good food in the same sentence.
(crap, I think I just did...)

But Denny's is far from my list of "good food" places to eat, even when traveling.
Perkins usually gets that spot...if they have one where I'm at. My preference is local cafes and diners instead of corporate "same-stuff" no matter where you go.
(for me, a big part of the travel experience is trying new foods, NOT just eating McDonalds where ever I go because, "well, at least I know what it is."

I used to live in the NE, so I miss my Friendly's restaurants. But Denny's is darned close. Lumberjack slam, comes out of the kitchen in like 7 minutes flat if that, good service, nice atmosphere, Denny's is great.

Well and truly agreed.

I'm the same way. I won't eat at Outback or any places of the sort. Chili's if I have to eat at any large chain. TGIF is hands down the worst. I can't express how different this Denny's experience was. It was one in Northwest Ark., Ft. Smith.

If anyone else is passing through that area I suggest finding a place called "Marketplace". Great food and service. Only other location is in Conway, Arkansas I think.

I just pack a sammich. I can hardly eat any fastfood (nothing with wheat).

hit a Denny's on a trip (wanted breakfast and no family style restaurants around) and it was great. on the way back it was closed.

though remember going once and took them 30 minutes to get the food out. couldn't even say it was because they were busy. it was empty

I ate there last when I was in college during a dorm fire drill, they shut off the elevators for two hours after (what a horrible policy!)... in a 17 story building FFS! Anyway, me and my roomie did not want to go back up the stairs 14 flights, so we went out to denny's to eat (6 AM, idiot fire drill aholes!). The food was pretty good, better then say hardee's or the like, but not as good as real home cooking.

The only time I ever eat at Dennys is if I'm with a group of people who insist on having french toast at 3am, and there's nothing else available. Here in south San Jose, there's a place called Pete's Family Restaurant (near Snell & Blossom Hill) that serves very decent food with excellent service, and is just the thing for a Sunday morning brunch.

op must be white...also the only time it's acceptable to go anywhere near a denny's is 3am when you're completely ripped and starving.

SA: your little corner of the world is not the way things are everywhere, you would do good to remember this. There is a Denny's quite near the campus of SIUC in a very safe neighborhood, and I have seen many more in good areas - mostly near interstate exits of towns that are quite safe.

I've been there only once, and I ordered a philly cheese steak sammich.

I'm sure they have some good food, but definitely not that.
