"If I leave the prices the same, but say on the
menu that there is a 5 percent surcharge for
Obamacare, customers have two choices. They
can either pay it and tip 15 or 20 percent, or if
they really feel so inclined, they can reduce the
amount of tip they give to the server, who is
the primary beneficiary of Obamacare," Metz
told The Huffington Post. "Although it may
sound terrible that I'm doing this, it's the only
alternative. I've got to pass the cost on to the
consumer."

why not just increase menu prices by 5%? :\

An increase in prices is no light change for a restaurant chain and if others have to increase their prices 5% i have a hard time believing Denny's will not do the same. I see them raising prices and adding the 5% obamacare fee.

Thank you airline industry for showing we will still use your business no matter how many fees you charge us.

So now their heart attack on a plate that usually costs $10.00 is now going to be $10.50. Greedy motherfuckers out there using ACA as an excuse to gouge their customers even more. Instead of thinking of what is best for their employees, they think about what is best for their pocketbook.

Man it would be so cool if everybody did this . But I think 5% is to small . 10% would really help . It would also reduce the number of undesireables that come in to be served.
I mean poor people need to eat off the food stamp programm and fix meals at home . But ya when its all done Obamacare will cause price rises across the board. Thats what I want to see happen anyway .

Who gave it that label?

The government is telling business that they need to pay up more money as a right to do business.
Tax/surcharge/what ever.

Obamas originally claimed it was not a tax; then the SCOTUS stated it was a tax.

It is still an added cost being imposed on business and people for the benefit of others outside the scope.

What do the supporters want to call it as related to the company/business?

You're going to see more and more of this. Business said what would happen if we didn't repeal obamacare, and what was predicted is coming true. Reduce people's hours to below 30, drop insurance all together, increased prices, layoffs, etc.

Did the liberal whine about it when san francisco did this years ago, even showing it on the receipt? My guess is no.

Workforce maintenance expense?

Seems like a labor force that deals with fewer long-term health issues can be vastly more productive.

Maybe they would have already offered healthcare to workers without all the extra taxes paid to help fund the costs of an uncesessary multi trillion$ war.
