Middle class families don't work at Denny's, middle class family's don't work at papa johns.

I am middle class and will keep my existing employer healthcare.

And I read the entire ACA at one point, it's awful legislation, terrible and doomed to fail. But not because of the cost increase to some businesses.

If you want to shred obamacare I'm right there with you, but you have to pick more legit arguments.
Mean household income is around $50,000. Median household income is around $45,000. Both numbers are well within the reach of a couple with one or both employed at Denny's, or a single earner assistant manager at Denny's. Same with Papa John's. A server who hustles and is good enough (both with customers and with management) to get 30 - 40 hours can easily earn $30K even in a Tennessee sit-down restaurant of those classes, and the best can earn $50k. Just because someone works at Denny's or Papa John's doesn't make them lower class, in any sense.

The government can not even afford to set up the insurance exchanges in states that do not want to set it up themselves. It is obvious that there is no way in hell to even emplement this Government health care. There is just not enough money to get this government health care off the ground. Plus some states like Missouri plan on not cooperating with the government.

When was the last time any of you people actually worked at a restraunt and earned over $30,000? Most restraunt workers cant earn much money. Because of the health care they will not be able to work over 30 hours a week because then the restraunt would have to pay their medical insurance or pay a penalty. I have seen a lot of part time W2 forms for a years work and people often only make around $12,000 a year. I scan documents for Fin Aid. You people are just lying.

Because 30 million uninsured people going to the emergency room for treatment doesn't cost anything.

I thought most of the newly insured were mostly healthy young people hence why its supposed to actually bring health insurance costs down.

LOL! The trick to working in a restaurant is to get your W2 earnings as low as possible and make the most money from cash tips that aren't reported. That 12k a year in W2 = 30k a year with tips.

Looking at the cost problem from another direction, what keeps the government from enforcing mark-up restrictions on medical supplies? Why not force MSRP on things like soap and gauze? I had knee surgery when I was 17 and the itemized bill had a sponge on it for $42.

Because in order for the Democrats to create single-payer program it is necessary for Democrats to blame all the problems on health insurance companies.

I don't think that's really it because this has been the case no matter what party was in the White House.
Anyone have a non-partisan idea? Kickbacks from manufacturers that are awarded supply contracts to whoever approves said contracts? I'm just spit-balling here and didn't have to call any democrats or republicans child-molesting kitten-stabbing monsters.

There is the all you can eat pancake stack
You can go to Aldi's and get instant pancake batter (that's about the level of quality of the pancakes at Denny's.) You can feed 2 people all the pancakes they could possibly eat for 99 cents, plus the cost of the artificial maple flavored high fructose corn syrup. Plus, they could drink a whole pot of coffee each for the cost of a cup of coffee & Denny's would still make a profit.

It's already been demonstrated that Papa John's cost increase amounts to little more than 0.5%. So the quoted 5% increase for Denny's is just nonsense.

Yeah when a young healthy person with no insurance gets into a car wreck, who do you think pays for the medical costs?

Thing is that finding ways to reduce costs while maintaining or improving quality has not been adequately researched. "Cost savings" are largely based on cuts in reimbursements, a distinctly counterproductive approach.

The government is telling business that they need to pay up more money as a right to do business.
Tax/surcharge/what ever.

Obamas originally claimed it was not a tax; then the SCOTUS stated it was a tax.

It is still an added cost being imposed on business and people for the benefit of others outside the scope.

What do the supporters want to call it as related to the company/business?

the real plan is to get employers out of the business of providing healthcare.

seems to be working, no?

I don't think anyone expected this to be pretty, but this is exactly what this country needs.

Employers do NOT provide health care. God damit what the hell is wrong with you people.

There is NOTHING stopping ANYBODY from getting group health insurance on their own. Just as there is nothing stopping anybody from getting actual health CARE. The employer isn't forced to be in on any of this, but Obamacare is forcing them into the transaction.

Employers are expected to pay for healthcare. It's a standard benefits package. ...and it's a preposterously ludicrous model that is unique to this retarded country.

Does that make you feel better?

lol--getting group insurance on their own? lmfao--yes, people want to go broke for no reason.

You can get group insurnance for under 150 bucks a month. Unless you're a complete dumb ass and let your insurance lapse. I've had group insurance since I was 21 and during even my 1099 years never let it lapse...because get this...I'm not a dumb ass. If you let your group insurance lapse you deserve everything coming to you for being so fucking stupid. It's yet another one of the "stupid tax" that imposes harsh penalties for being fucking stupid.

Oh, and correction. Employers are not expected to pay for health care. No employer offers health care unless your work for a hospital or health care provider.

Health care
Health insurance

See the difference?

Think about it... $150/month. For fucking insurance!

This isn't food, or shelter. It's some "cloud" thing that says someone will help you get medical care, when you become sick 60 years later.

FUCK insurance.

I'd rather have a few bucks cash.

So, Spidy,

How ya gonna afford 150 bucks a month working part time at a shit job? Think about it! It's why employees like mc-donalds and any other fast food don't hire full time so they can get out of paying health insurance.

If you want him to understand that, you'll have to refer to it by its proggie name, their G&SJ (Greed & Social Justice) statement.

lol I guss many proggies never had to do a P&L.

Its the greed that pays that EBT card. I know they heard of that one.

The car insurance agency.

Their car insurance actually does.

Not if the young person was at fault and you're not in a no-fault staste.

There is NOTHING stopping ANYBODY from getting group health insurance on their own.

Actually, there is. You have to be a part of a ratable group that was formed for a purpose other than qualifying for health insurance. In some states a self-employed person may qualify as a group of one, but that is only through regulatory action and the fact that the person isn't running a business just for health insurance. A bunch of neighbors could not get together and buy a group insurance plan.
