Idiot? LOL.

Yes, one catch that should have been made cost NE the game. Sure, you can bring up numerous other plays but if that one play was made, game over.

No NFL HC in the world would say "God damn it, Reche Caldwell cost us the win!!!!" ESPECIALLY Belichick.

They would say "Reche made a bad mistake, but with an 18 point lead, we should've never placed ourselves in a position where 1 play decided the game." Like it or not, the Pats defense was the real cause of defeat that day. I don't know if it was the players or the coaching of the D in the second half, but it isn't really relevant. They lost an 18 point lead.

Quoted for stupidity. No shit Sherlock. Of course, that's what Belichick would say. But any intelligent human being would know if that catch was made, the game was over.

But keep on talking crap, just makes you look more stupid.

And all of that is beside the point, which is that Tom Brady has not won a Superbowl in eight seasons, despite all of your bluster.

Their last 3 biggest games in the playoffs were two losses to the Giants in a SB (one as a prohibitive favorite) and losing an 18 point lead to the Colts in the AFC Championship in 2006/07. I honestly expect he'll win another before he hangs it up though and nows a good time with the Giants out.

I never really followed the Colts in the past, but did they ever have the Defense that Denver has right now? I thought they were usually being dragged along by the awesome offense. Seems to be a different beast to me.

the Colts had 2 or 3 very good defensive years, but this Denver group is certainly as good and likely better than those Colts teams.

I feel that Manning should have very little trouble handling Ms Bundchen and her squad of Pats. That being said, Manning hasn't been all that great in the playoffs--hell, he needed tons of help from Rex Grossman to win his one superbowl.

I don't like AFC chances in the superbowl, though. Any of 3 teams, when playing as well as they can and if healthy, could whip the Pats or Broncos: GB, SF, and probably Seattle (road troubles, of course).

And then there are the Redskins, lead by Jesus on Earth RG3, who will most likely be winning everything forever from here on out until RG3 retires from professional football and is elected to President of the USA!

Yet, year after year the Pats make the playoffs and get into the Super Bowl on average 50 percent of the time.
Wrong, but not terribly far off. Five of eleven, or 45%.

And Brady and the Pats coming up a little short with the lowest draft picks,
Most teams would certainly envy the Patriots' ability to draft well.

hardest schedule
Not once in the last 11 seasons have the Patriots had the hardest schedule. In fact, they've never even had a top 10 schedule in terms of difficulty. Over the last decade, they've had the following rank for SOS: 21st, 30th, 14th, 11th, 23rd, 24th, 18th, 12th, 17th, 23rd

and the salary cap is still an astonishing feat.
I have no idea what point you're trying to make here. Everyone deals with the salary cap.

That's because Belichick is correct. Belichick would say "Our team screwed up." That's because Belichick knows blaming one guy for a loss after half your team collapsed is ridiculous. Caldwell fucked up. We all know that. But so did that Pats defense (to a far greater extent). When you lose a big lead and place yourself into a position where you have NO leeway, you deserve the results.

You conveniently forget that the Pats were driving at the end of the game when Tom Brady threw an INT to ice the game for the Colts. Why is that never mentioned either? I guarantee that if the situation were reversed and the Colts lost an 18-point lead to the Pats, you Pats fans would still be talking about how Manning choked in that game.

But any intelligent human being would know if that catch was made, the game was over.

Any intelligent human being knows that when you lose an 18 point lead and lost all margin for error, you get don't have the luxury of blaming one guy for your loss.

the same broncos that went 2-3 against playoff teams during the reg season? broncos are talented but i dont see why people have them as favorites. i dont see them making it out of the AFC, but the bye should really help them.

I imagine Brady is disappointed that the Giants are out. As competitive as he is, I'm sure he'd want another crack.

I don't know. Packers secondary still has some issues. Especially MD Jennings, he is known to leave receivers wide open and unless making game winning interceptions that are counted for touchdowns, he seems to be lacking a bit for the Packers.

(Side note. That touchception game, if overturned, would have the packers in 2nd seed instead. Not that I care, just saying there is now officially an impact on the playoff picture)

Be careful. Even though the redskins have not blown teams out, they are on a 7 game winning streak. And teams entering the playoffs on winning streaks w/o the first round bye, can wreck havoc in the playoffs.

(See giants last year and packers 2 years ago, both teams were in positions to require winning streaks at the end of the season to make the playoffs, same as the redskins have now)

Good thing he has home field all the way up to the SB, and even that could be estimated at 50% the usual away noise.
just replying to the question/comment about why he can only be heard during home games. i understand how the playoff seeding works.

Really? Peyton was coming off a YEAR of not playing and under an entirely new team. You can watch him improve on a weekly basis. And of those three loses only one of of them was by more than one possession (10 points to Pats). Compare his passing in his first 4 games to his last 4 and he's improved tremendously.

I don't see them losing to anybody again other than the Pats maybe. Apart from Houston falling apart on their own, the Broncos are a much better team than they were at the time.

I don't have as much confidence as the OP but I don't see them losing to any of their potential first opponents at least (of which they've beat 2 already), and if somehow the Pats stumble somewhere it's very likely Denver is in the SB.

Has Russell Wilson beaten Peyton Manning, yet? That's the last HoF QB* this season to add to his tally. Would be awesome!

(*Rogers only sorta counts as "beaten")

pure speculation: If Wilson somehow manages to win the SB, does he beat out Manning for MVP? :hmm:

Definitely agree the broncos have improved over the year, but as you have pointed out, they played the better teams early (and lost). The only thing they have done recently is beat teams they should have beaten, which is what other playoff teams did as well.

FTR, i dont think very highly of bmore or cincy, and do think broncos are better, but i just put them in the middle of the playoff pack, not at the top.

MVP doesn't take into account the playoffs. It is a regular season award IIRC.

No because if I remember right MVP is decided before the SB is played.
