So the Patriots were protesting what? Living in Denver?

Protests and rallies all seem to be a sign that unemployment and laziness are too high. Security guards and mall cops obviously fall into that camp. 😛

When people are truly working, they're too tired at the end of the day to protest anything, unless it's OSHA or wages related.

True. From the interviews of attendees, the patriot protestors were trying to stop the "leftist" message to protect their way of life. In other words they support white supremecy, banana republic style economy, and fascism. You know, the orange man's vision of utopia.

So if I'm reading this correctly,
Right wing protestor, after his rally was done walked over to the museum where the counter protest was and got into an argument with a guy, punched guy and then sprayed him with pepper spray.
Guy shoots right wing guy in response to being punched and being sprayed with pepper spray.

Am I missing anything?

Oh wait....full fucking context

Correction...multiple right wing assholes were getting in a BLM dude's face and threatening him.
Other guy approaches, right wing guy strikes him and then sprays him, resulting in the guy guy shooting him

why was the security guard shooter arrested? I'm certain that between those ~9 angry white patriots, there was a gun somewhere, certainly within the zip code, that justified reasonable concern for safety. Well, and also the pepper spray...

Requiem for the American dream comes to mind. One point made is that the ruling class was deeply troubled by the social movements in the 60's, and devised a plan to give people less time to protest, which has worked wonders eroding our freedoms and keeping the plebs fighting each other while money gets funneled to the few

Right. I was reading the comments on the news site. RWNJ were saying the security guy was out of control and this wasn't self defense. These same RWNJ have no problems with police killing Floyd though.... Those commenters also claimed that this was evidence the MSM was lying about the protests being peaceful... so they aren't the brightest, but still.

I cannot see anything good with protestors being engaged / harassed / attacked by counter protestors. Those situations are just begging for violent conflict.

2 guns were found at the scene, I doubt both were the Pinkerton's "Two guns were found at the scene, he said, as well as a mace can."

If we did not have a want to be dictator that vilifies the free press, and encourages anger towards them, the Pinkerton would not even have been there.

Sure seems like self defense. "Good shoot" some would say, no? Or maybe it's "play stupid games, win stupid prizes?" I forget.

the usual grifters where screaming for people to do something about antifa before the police released a statement stating he was a security guard. The timing of that photo is amazing, you can see the case ejecting still

And now stupid violent person is dead
That's how it goes. When you do risky things you sometimes come out on the short side of the odds. To me, the sad thing is that it was all for nothing. There was no win here for anyone, there was no possible gain from any outcome. Maybe proving that you have the biggest swinging dick in the state is worth the risk to some folks, sure as hell it isn't worth it to me.

One less Trump / Gardner vote is a gain for Colorado.

This case has me all sorts of curious.
Is slapping someone and macing them enough cause for them to defend themselves with deadly force?

In most other cases where I side with taking the shot, they were either being pursued, in a sustained attack, being pinned, or facing a greater threat.

This seems like a case where a warning (brandishing) would be a better outcome than just pulling a gun out and killing someone out of the blue. But then I've never experienced pepper spray or mace. I don't know how harmful it is.

Then again, I think most States (if not all?) give zero regard for warnings... and outright make it illegal to brandish. AKA the Saint Louis couple facing charges. It is more criminal to brandish and warn people off than to simply pull out the weapon and kill them. Thanks Government.

Back to the case.... hitting someone with that spray should certainly be an illegal and criminal act, in addition to to the physical assault. So we do have multiple sustained assaults going on from the person who was shot. I remain conflicted at seeing use of the gun being the first act of self defense in this case. Seems wrong.
