For those of you who remember Depeche Mode's Singles Vol. 1 - 3 boxed sets from 1991, they are back! And more!

Vol. 1 through 3 that have been out of print and unavailable for 10 years, if not longer, were re-released last Tuesday. In addition Vol. 4 through 6 have been released. So, there are now 6 boxed sets with 6 CDs each. They are on sale at BB (both B&M and online) for $29.99.

With the help of fellow AT'ers, here are the links to the products:
Singles Vol.1 Singles Vol.2 Singles Vol.3 Singles Vol.4 Singles Vol.5 Singles Vol.6

Wow, memories!
I had all 3 of the original sets back in the day, and was very sorry that i had to sell them somewhere along the way on this adventure we call life

hmmm,
wonder if theres enough nostalgia there to justify buying them again

Great to see these rereleased and the additional boxes. I still have my original boxes and do listen to them to this day. They really did put out some great music and the current stuff isn't that bad at all. I even picked up the live DVD Paris set when it came out and it's really good too. I've been a DM fan for a long time, so take my enthusiasm with that in mind.

The early singles are cd versions of the 12" vinyl "maxi-singles"
The later singles are reissues of the cd singles issued at the time of release.
I remember that the cdsingle for "strangelove" clocks in at 40-50 minutes total play time.
Several others also run that long when you add up the various remixes/bsides.

lol I thought it was $29.99 for all 6 sets, not 29.99 for each set.
but it still good if you are a huge dm fan

I haven't had a chance to listen to the 3 new boxes, but from the first three I love CD #18 with "Little 15" and the Moonlight Sonata.

I'm wondering the same thing.

I remember collecting the singles at used record shops and actually amassing pretty much all of vol's 1 through 3 without actually paying for the boxed sets. Unfortunately I sold off most of my music several years ago (including all of DM except Music for the Masses), and have been kicking myself ever since.

EDIT: oops--meant "music."

And the Strangelove single was quite amazing (and loooooong--hard to call them singles, since they often included remix after remix). Something about their music made/makes it very versatile and remixable.

It's hard to beat 29.99. Even Amazon wants $44.98 each.

I'm going for volumes 2, 3, 4, and 5 I think... but then... 6 has some great live tracks... and why buy just 2-6... guess I should get volume one for a complete set... talking myself into a $180 purchase here...

I read somewhere that these were also remastered.

(((O yeah... 'The Cure - Join The Dots' 4cd box set is also pretty nice... )))

Yeah. The Cure's "Join the Dots" is awesome. I did a pre-order for it also with Best Buy. Got it for about $28.

Defiinitely gonna check these out. But yeah, $180 is a lot. don't know if I can really justify the expense right now since I've already spent over $400 for Morrissey tickets.

Fortunately, I had the original Vol. 1-3, so it was *only* a $90 purchase for me. Didn't really want to spend that kind of money so unexpectedly, but I knew that I would regret missing out on this deal if they go out of print as fast as the original ones did.

As far as remastering, I could not find an evidence of it. The first three boxes are still marked with 1991 copyright. I would expect them to be marked as 1991, 2004 copyright if they were redone. The last three boxes are marked with 2004.

wow, nostalgia. I remember playing the 101 album in my walkman over and over again, day after day. Never really got tired of hearing their songs too. They still rock to this day. Anyone know why the listing for the tracks seem to repeat on the best buy site?

Kind of like my Gary Numan collection - I already have everything from DM!

Nice price anyway!

Umm, respectfully, I disagree. SoFaD was pretty lame, imo. I haven't really liked them since then, I guess. Music for the Masses was great, but after that, they just didn't have the same appeal. Black celebration is still my favorite, though, and I also like Speak n Spell. And 101 of course....

Oh well, to each his own. Just my .02

what i meant was that the old albums still rock to this day i agree that after music for the masses (and perhaps even a little before that), i was getting less interested. that constant changing of members didn't do help any. Just thinking of the beginning of "shake the disease", that song rocked
