depressed, and i gotta share

not sure why, but i've been really depressed today

not just 'blah' depressed....but really depressed

rather than drown myself in self pity...i wrote a little poem for my daughter

i'm going to share, which i usually don't do
but tonight i think it will help (assuming i don't get flamed or teased)

dedicated to my daughter, Rinoa

i dont know, maybe you're just dicking around giving the token "angry atot" response. but holy s, dude, get your rocks off on something better than the misery of others.
is it douche-y to give a kid a super-creative and unique name? probably...but you know jack about the history of the name for these people. maybe its a family thing, maybe its a place or maybe he just made it the f up...do you know? and how does it change your life either way?

I sometimes...often...get emotional when I think about the cruelity of aging and the finality of mortality. Life can be wonderful. I go places. Meet people. Love people like my parents. But I know each day I live is also a day closer to death...and while I have no idea when that will be, odds are I will watch my dog and parents die. I will then grow old and watch my kids struggle as they watch me die.

You love your daughter more than life itself. She is growing before your very eyes. But life is cruel. You get old. She gets old. God forbid, she may die before you do but most likely you will die in front of her. And perhaps there is life after death? Perhaps not and that is it.

You can dwell on such thoughts...and be depressed. And that is okay.

thats right.
dont ever feel like you're alone in those thoughts. dont ever feel like its no appropriate to express those to people...even online (which is more dangerous because you know people are going to s on you for expressing that kind of thing. i think people too often feel that their emotions are either not respected or cared about enough to share)

Now you have a daughter, growing before your eyes. Among many things, she is a reminder of the circle of life. You will do your best to raise her such that she can take your place on the stage of life.
