We all like parts of certain cars (favorite engine, favorite body, favorite interior, ect.). If you were to combine all your favorites, what would you get? Why is each part your favorite?

The Audi S4 is my ideal perfect car- I just wish it had the interior space of, say, a Volkswagen Passat.

Lightweight V6, twin-turbos, all-wheel-drive, 4-door sedan to seat friends/more luggage, large trunk, great looks, tunable, 6-speed manual transmission.

i couldnt name one since i have so many different wants.

I would need an everyday car

I would need an offroading vehicle

I would need a speedy car

I would need a transport for large objects.

I think it is impossible to combine all of these into one machine without making it one fugly beast. So i think i'll stick with an Audi S8, a Jeep TJ Rubicon, a Viper, and an F350 dually

Mid engine
RWD or AWD (toss up)
2 seater
Twin turbo 6 cylinder, minimum 300 HP
6-speed
Under 2500 lbs

If I can get that I don't care too much about the body style.

Moderately riced out VW Passat which offers the same or better reliability and resale value than the Accord/Camry offers at their lower prices.

trip computers that give all sorts of cool info
some sort of hybrid engine that gets 50 mpg
sunroof
1 1/4" trailer hitch for my bike rack

I want to walk to my tiny car port on my country estate and by the time I get there every thing I want that I now go get would be waiting for me. When I want to go somewhere the persona public transport unit will be there to wisk me the first twenty miles to the central pod transport where my temporary unit will hook up with other unites headed in the same direction I am at supersonic or sub sonic speeds depending on the distance and service type. I don't want a personal car tying up resources the 80% and up time I'm not using it.

An RX-7 that produces 400HP to the wheels, reliably would be mine.. and of course, it'd have to be able to pull 1G+ on the skidpad

If you can make do with a 5-speed tranny I know of some guys with flat-6 turbo-ed 914's that can hit those specs.

Personally:

For a people-mover car:
Flat-4
Rear-engine and rear-drive.
Air-cooled.
Looks kind of like an unbaked loaf of bread.
(If you can't tell by now, I want a 1st-generation VW Microbus.)

Everyday run-around car:
1988 Honda Accord LX-i 5-speed.

Performance car:
Air-cooled.
Turbo-ed Flat-6.
Rear-engine, rear-drive.
5 speed.
If you do anything sudden in a corner you're dead.
(Porsche 911 Turbo 3.6)

ZV

EDIT: Towing and hauling:
4x4 Ford F350 Dually Super Crew Long bed with the Diesel and the 6-speed.

I want something that can be six speed when I want to have fun and automatic when I'm stuckin rush hour. And none of that sequential sportshift or crap like that....I want something that handles like the real thing but goes to straight automatic during rush hour.

Here's mine:

Body/chasis/interior: Porsche 968 convertible
Front engine, rear transmission, 50/50 weight balance, convertible top, handling that surpasses the Lotus Elise (tested by Autocar)

Engine: VW VR6 24v (w/ aftermarket twin turbo)
as smooth as a straight 6 (cylinders naturally cancel out their own vibrations)
800hp/750ft-lbs @ high boost
250hp/225ft-lbs @ low boost

Transaxle: Porsche 6speed w/ skip shift lockout
One of the smoothest 6 speeds I've ever felt
Only 6 speed rear transaxle I know of
Limited Slip
Skip shift lockout eliminates mandatory 1-4 shift @ low throttle

Brakes / Wheels: Right off a new Porsche 911 Turbo
Looks great, stops great, great traction, what else you need?

Stereo:
Alpine CVA-1003 Head (flip-out screen)
Alpine CHA-S634 CD-Changer
Alpine Mobile DVD Player
Alpine Navigation System
Alpine XM Tuner
Alpine MRD-M500 -> 2x 12" Alpine Type-R Subs
Alpine MRV-F540 -> 2x Alpine 6.5" Components (front) & 2x Alpine 6x9 Type-R Speakers (rear)

Other mods:
True-HID headlights <- none of that HID-look crap

An RS6 station wagon that pulls 30MPG on the highway, and only costs $30 a month to insure would be nice

Don't knock the mighty wagon! When you need to move yourself, three of your friends, a keg of beer, and shetland pony in a car that does 0-60 in 4 seconds, then this is the car to have

I've got speed, looks, and functionality all wrapped into one.
