Designing for Safari compatibility

My developer doesn't have a mac, but says Konqueror is based on the same KHTML. Will Safari-compatibility issues also show up as Konqueror-compatibility issues?

Probably, although it's hard to say whether there will be differences between the two without following the development of both and making sure all of the patches from one go into the other.

Thanks Nothinman. We'll start documenting the safari errors and see if they show up on Konqueror

In my experience, whatever that works in Firefox works well in Safari as well. However, the same document can be completely messed up in Konqueror..

I do know our javascript is fine in firefox but is toast in Safari...

Firefox's rendering is closer to Safari's than KHTML's is. Also, I don't trust a web developer who doesn't have a mac. It's like hiring a carpenter who doesn't own a hammer. The suite of tools a web developeris required to have to do his job propely includes all popular browsers on all popular platforms.
