Hi guys, lets start a new thread because the old one is getting too big for my connection to handle. For those of u guys who received estamp...did anyone else get version 1.0 instead of 1.1? Also, my box was all crushed when I received it and i'm missing the mail address cd and the e-vault. Wtf is up with that?

Got mine within 24 hours... I ordered a USB cable from outpost.com, saw that they were selling ten foot cables for $4.95 with free overnight shipping... Just goto their homepage and search USB Cable...

The rebate form is on the web, you have to print it out and mail it in... you can get the link from the buy.com website.. Just goto the E-stamp software page and voila!

I got the 840c, and they also sent me the version 1.0. who cares, I can probably download any updates with my RR cable.
this is the largest rebate I've ever applied for, hope there are no
catches or snages. I think they want you to keep buying stamps for the 10% extra per stamp they charge, anyone know if there are any other
catches or charges?????

Printer in 2 days (Calif.) They sent me two software kits.(separate shippings) Does this mean I get two tries at the $50 free postage? Of course will check CC charges carefully. The rebate requires both printer and E-Stamp software on same receipt, I know; but if someone buggered up their UPC I've Got an extra UPC I guess.

As an aside, the 930C printer arrived in less than 24hrs and worked beautifully with the photo paper provided. Thanks to whoever first posted this, because this is a great free/$40/$175 printer. Now, about that rebate.....

I had no dongle either (version 1.1) What's a dongle???

rebuilder - I also had banding problems with the 930c printing a high quality photo. Try disabling PhotoRet for the best resolution (see manual page 6) This gave me a much better quality photo
BUT...
I'm getting verticle and horizontal black lines on my photos! :| What's that all about?

Anyone else having the same problem?

The &quot;dongle&quot; is the Electronic Vault, from what I can gather. The box says that this and the Address CD will be mailed to you once you register online. I think some of their earlier packaging (maybe the ones you buy from E-Stamp direct) come with the Electornic Vault included. This hooks into the parallel port, and actually stores your account balance information.

You cannot download the 1.1 upgrade, E-Stamp has to send you the CD. Their web site says it is a free upgrade.

And yes, my software came out of the Illinois warehouse, which is nice because I live in Michigan. My box was beat up as well.

I also received the v1.0 instead of v1.1 of the E-stamp software, whereas my packaging slip and receipt both indicate a v1.1 product. Could someone who received v1.1 please post the exact UPS code numbers printed on the V1.1 box? I wonder if the two versions have the same UPC codes or not. Thanks!

Mine is Version 1.1. But the strange thing is....that there is a version 1.1 sticker on the front of the box. Over &quot;version 1.0&quot; which is actually printed on the box itself.

Weird. Oh well.....I just wanted the printer anyway. I'll take the free postage though!

You don't need a special USB cable made just for printers... all you need is one of those A-B cables that most USB devices use... for a better idea goto http://www.outpost.com and search 64863 , That is the one I ordered (came in 15 hours to my front door, amazing!)

Looks like they are out of stock so no overnight shipping on this puppy, but this store has tons of the same type of cable for about the same price..

instead of using the usb port.. can the 930c printer connect to a regular parallel port???how many UPC kode do u have to include along w/ the rebate form??do i cut out the UPC kode from the box (e-stamps and the printer box) or the sticker one???

USB worked fine, even with a VIA motherboard, and it was parallel that gave me headaches on two different machines - junk print, generl protection faults, blank sheets fed on every boot. This HP FAQ shows how to cure all of that:

The right UPCs to submit for the rebate are printed on the packing slip that comes with the shipment.

My e-stamp package also arrived crushed and with a loose CD in it.

Has anybody's Ebates account been credited yet for this purchase?

This whole rebate thing is starting to make me nervous! I do not want this printer unless I get the rebate. I was going to sell it with a system I am building. Hmmmmm What is the final word on the rebate. E-stamp told me that HP is doing the rebate and some people here called Buy.com and HP and both said they are not doing the rebate. I hope E-stamp is not bailing out! What do you guys think?
