In response to a guy previously in thread...I too am using Win2000 and cannot get it to recognize my vault. I emailed estamp about 5 days ago...and never heard back. Only by reading here do I realize it won't work on Win2k...

Does anyone know if they will accept a return of the vault and give a refund if YOU DON'T HAVE THE UPC??? I guess I can install Win98 as suggested...but man what a hassle just to print stamps.

Also, wouldn't it be great if you could just print out $50 in envelopes and have them ready to go instead of having to print the postage the day you want to send it???

Oh well...$50 for a $200 printer is still good in my book.

Yea, the 24 hour limit is what really annoys me. After I use up the 50 bucks in postage, I doubt I will buy more. Might look into stamps.com, as someone earlier said they don't have such a restrictive time limit.

From what I understand the 24 hour limit is a Postal Service restriction.

For best results use your Stamp.com scale and be sure to mail early and mail often. At least for the first month.

Does the stamps.com digital scale work by itself, or do you have to attach it to your computer? And how long did it take to get the scale from the date you signed up?

E-Stamps has just released a new "service pack." It has fixed all my (non)Printing of postage problems caused by their vaults incompatabilty with my Asus Via 133mhs FSB motherboard printer port. It will automatically download when you start the software.

Well, I installed E-Stamp on my other computer with the old Parallel HP 710C and it prints Pronto/Fast just like you would expect. I can't figure it out - why my 930c would not even print on the parallel port through the vault, but at least the program is working and I can use up the $50 of free postage (E-Stamp did refund me $5 of postage to make up for all the "attempts" to print that failed or timed out or whatever where no postage actually printed - actually ended up with $50.22 after the refund).

For those of you who are waiting for the estamp software, buycom is shipping them now. I ordered it June 22 at 11:00 pm and received it yesterday. It is V1.1. Now to begin the process of getting the vault and $50 postage, etc.

I also received a coffee mug freebie that I ordered in December. I had almost forgotten about that.

Shotokon,

Boy, that's weird. I ordered on 6/21 and received the e-stamps on thursday, but mine was v 1.0. Didn't really matter though since I had already sent away for 1.1 using the registration link

Yeah, and according to their site when you connect to their servors V1.1 users will be prompted to download service pack 1. It says "an update that will improve communication between the electronic vault and bi-directional printers (e.g. HP OfficeJets).

Funny thing the cd was loose in the box when I opened it and has some small scratches on it. I wasn't sure if it was going to work or not but it worked fine.

FYI - Sam's club has an electronic scale (upto 4lb) for 29$ something.
Staples has a old style postal scale for 7 $ something.

Hi,

I just received the e-stamp package which was back ordered. According to e-stamp, it will honor rebates submitted by July 31.

Anyway, does anybody know where the rebate form is located? It didn't come with the package. Is it inside the e-stamp SW box?

Thanks,

BHunter - There was a link on buy.com when you ordered the printer & e-stamp software. You needed to click the link & print out the rebate form.
I think the link has been posted in several threads on this board and others (ie: fatwallet.com) - try a search (if the link is still up).

I haven't received my rebate check, but I did receive a letter in the mail today saying that my rebate could not be fulfilled. Enclosed in the letter were the original rebate form, receipt, and UPC symbols that I had mailed in.

The letter stated that my rebate was denied because I did not include the "correct...or enough UPC symbols". I had sent them (and they returned to me) one UPC symbol #64644 20202 for the e-Stamp v1.1 software, and one UPC symbol #25184 21485 for the DeskJet 930c printer.

Did anyone else get this reply? Can anyone suggest what other UPC symbols I was supposed to send? Other than the bar code with the printer serial #, I do not recall seeing any other UPC symbols on the printer or e-Stamp software boxes.

Thanks in advance for the help!

wlj- when did you send in your rebate stuff? I'm sure those are the right UPCs, as they were printed on the receipt.

SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME
I received the mail from Mary Summers(from Gage Marketing Service). It stated I did not include the correct UPC(s) and did not include enough UPC symbols.

Here is a list of the material I sent with the rebate:
1) e-stamp.com rebate form
2) Buy.com printed receipt
3) HP 930c UPC --- UPC# 0 25184 21485 2
4) e-stamp software 1.1 UPC --- UPC# 6 64644 20202 4

I think I'll scan all my form and UPCs and email e-stamp@gage.com to find out the problem. I failed to find the phone #. Anyone has the phone #?

[EDIT]

I FOUND THE PHONE # (not 1-800 though). Here is the link:
http://www.gage.com/phone_fax_email/reachus.html

I received the mail from

Box 9900
MAPLE PLAIN, MINNESOTA 55592

so I think the phone # SHOULD be this one:
Consumer Fulfillment/Direct Response
5130 Industrial Street
Maple Plain, MN 55359
Phone: 612-479-4100
Fax: 612-479-4720

I opened a new thread regarding rejected rebate. Please post anything regarding the rebate here: (forget it, the mod already locked this thread)

Was that UPC from the bottom of the box or the side? I sent the one from the side...

wlj, what you described are the correct UPC's. Except you forgot the first and last smaller digits. It should be 664644202024 and 025184214852. Others have sent in the same UPC codes.
wjones, the UPC code you listed for the software is wrong. Obviously it was a typo since it's the code for the printer. Did you send in 664644202024 or 664644302595?

The 930C UPC code is from the side of the box. It was printed vertically.
I'm 100% sure the UPC code is correct because I checked with buy.com packing slip, which has the UPC code printed on it.
