Apologize if this is the wrong subforum as I'm not really sure where the best fit is.
The boss has the idea that we can have a TV in the conference room and then anyone with a laptop can go into the room and have their desktop displayed on the TV wirelessly for meetings/presentations (i.e. excel spreadsheets or power point, not tv/movies). My limited searching has given me the following options:
Apple TV - From what I can tell, you would need a app (AirParrot) to do this if you don't have a Mac. The con is that you need the app on each device which means visitors are out of luck. Visitors would need to plug in via HDMI, which if we needed to have a cable available why bother going wireless?
Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter - Only works on Windows 8.1+ devices.
Chromecast - Only works for things that can be run from a Chrome browser.
Is there anything else? I figure what I am looking for is some sort of plug and play dongle but there doesn't seem to be anything out there.
