I don't know if I t is or isn't overpriced compared to the completion but compared to the 5700 you get another 400 mHz and an unlocked chip. Doesn't seem that bad for 10 bucks.

Prices on the site you linked are already different than what you copy/pasted here, they must've changed them. ...which makes me skeptical they have real pricing info. They now have the A10-5800K at $140.

Assuming its CPU performance is on par with an i3-3220, that's a tremendous value.

From a reliable source i have found out that 5600K has the same price as 3870k (for Europe). So it seams the current prices in the link above are closer to reality.

Kinda of a bold statement. Whats power consumption like between the 2 . Its like the add says on auto repair. Pay now or later. We seem to have a new metric since the P4 days . Since I was more into media The price of a P4 gave me value over a AMD 64. But comparring AMDS top end desktop to lowend IB is a bit off the cuff. Price you pay for a product and the price paid over its useful life 5 years. Is the only true metric. Its like a car that sells for 16,000 that gets 20 miles to gallon highway Vs 20,000 car that gets 30 miles highway. over the course of 5 years the cheaper car was no bargin.

Trinity is not AMDs top end desktop CPU, FX is.

Price you pay for a product and the price paid over its useful life 5 years. Is the only true metric. Its like a car that sells for 16,000 that gets 20 miles to gallon highway Vs 20,000 car that gets 30 miles highway. over the course of 5 years the cheaper car was no bargin.

Depends on the mileage you do, if your mileage is low then the 16K car is a better buy.

Probably not until NDA lifts. AMD has kept their CPUs very close to the vest of late, and generally has not released for even a preview before the NDA lifts. That's been their mantra for a while, the good with the bad. No criticism is intended here.

What I don't get is why Anandtech hasn't reviewed an OEM A10 yet. Chips that are available via OEM's aren't covered by the NDA and there are a few reviews of them out there already. Heck, Tomshardware had one back in June...

Media encoding the 3.8GHz A10-5800k was about 10% faster than the 2.9GHz Llano A8-3850. Trinity had lower idle power consumption, and they were about the same for load power consumption. That's about all I was interested in.
