Question, I know blizzard recently released the ability to gift hearthstone cards to people, but can you gift an entire game, for example destiny 2 to someone? If so, the first person who gifts it to me is going to get a discount on my 8700k thats for sale haha. I really want this game but the wife won't let me grab it until some of the parts sold. Considering how much I spent on pc parts in the last week, it's completely understandable. Game looks amazing and right up my alley, I can't wait to get my hands on it.

i have no idea, you prob have to look at the Blizz store and see if you can purchase as a gift through it

I'm doing a much better job of managing inventory but my level is just creeping up, slower than I'd like but getting there. I've been doing as much as possible, blending strikes, public events, patrols, and general exploring. So far it's working out and I've scored some nice stuff... got a clan invite the other day but I'm not sure I want to commit just yet. I know they expire but I have minimal time to play during the week. Also kind of the lone wolf type...

Not joining a clan makes zero sense because you lose out on free rewards and loot each week. In addition, the clan perks increase your own individual drop rates. Who doesn't want increased exotic drop rates from public events etc.?

ditto.

I can typically play weeknights after 8 or so EDT, or weekend mornings/late nights.

for some reason I've not played the Inverted Spire strike on Nessus at all, on the PC version. It's the only one that seems to not want to be selected. Anyone else notice and appreciate that they did away with the useless into jargon when you're en route to each planet strike? can't recall how many times I had to listen to those intros in the predecessor.

Does anybody else see this game as something that is going to fall off very quickly at the high end (interest wise)? I mean, gameplay-wise, what is the motivation to raise my number (power level) from 250 (where I am now) to 300 or so? Are there any gameplay differences? I suppose you are more capable of completing raids and/or nightfalls, which will reward you with gear that raises that number higher? Just seems kinda pointless. I wish there were more abilities or other similar things that you could unlock that have actual gameplay changes.

Just join and if you don't want to be in it later, you can leave.

You don't have to talk to anyone or interact or join with any clan members.

However, you will get free loot from clan engrams (4 total). Clan engrams are given to each clan member once per week so long as the clan can complete some easy objectives:

A lot of people complained about too much grinding in the first game and they may have gone too far in the other direction. I was surprised that weapon mods are all unlocked up front since that was a big incentive for grinding in the last game.

I don't need the game to last me 200 hours so I'm good with most of the changes they've made. I am surprised however at how lazy they were with the enemies. Almost all of them are exactly the same as the last game. Shooting fools is what you're doing 90% of the time, shake it up a bit for pete's sake.

That kind of logic can basically be applied to any game at which point you take the fun out of anything. Grinding is a part of any RPG/MMORPG, and yes, the point of increasing your power level is so that you are stronger to run the raid and nightfall. You can add legendary mods to your gear at PL 280 as well. Furthermore, you can grind for gear that make you more effective in PvP.

I guess thats the whole point in it.
So you can get geared and dominate in PVP because of gear advantages.

However i dont and never liked PVP which had those in regards.

I feel PVP should always be balanced and should not be gear dependant.
If someone has Weapon X, everyone should also be allowed Weapon X, so i am rarely in PVP to begin with.
Also the last couple PVP matches i have been in were not fun at all.
It was against organized CLAN's and basically we were like chicken let out of the hen house and allowed to be feasted upon wolves.

Well i think match making will get better soon, however meh... i'll just stay with the pve aspects to it until i get my 305 gear and then quietly retire the game out for something new.

But as of this moment, the only real shooters i have to play are Destiny 2 and Mass Effect Adromeda, which i am honestly quite burnt out on.

So until i get a better shooter which is not from ubisoft, i guess i'll stay with that grind.

I'm still enjoying Destiny 2, and that's coming from a Day 1 console player who completed the campaign solo and with a fireteam. I did notice that my leveling up came to a grinding halt again at around 270... all the drops are low level and I have to rely on Flashpoint and clan events, which is fine. I think it's way more fun on the PC with the mouse aim.

Hopefully have time to play this weekend... I've gotten many more exotic drops from this playthrough than either one on PS4, not sure why but I haven't scooped a lot that were all that great yet except the Sunshot + ornamental skin

Well, when you have an established universe with alien races that have some established lore and you didn't kill off in the first game, you aren't going to throw them away. Plus there are changes to many of the races. There are new movement mechanics, new classes of fallen and cabal like the wretch and flame thrower guys(i forget their name at the moment), variations on the vex enemies etc.

In Destiny 2 your levels and gear doesn't matter for PvP. Only the perks take effect. A lv300 player has no advantage against a lv270 except the weapon type and any perks and subclasses used. So for example a Hunter Nightstaker at lv270 using a Mida Multi-Tool and a Uriel's Gift has no disadvantage against a player of the same class using the same weapons but who is lv305. Even if your weapon is only lv205 and someone has one that is 305, the 305 version does not do more damage.
