What sorts of special abilities are available in the later game? Does combat ever get more complex than moving in and out behind cover and chipping away at health with a gun? I'm not really complaining as this is primarily a FPS shooter with MMO elements, but that sort of gameplay will get repetitious.

I tried it again today and they have fixed the vulture error, I was able to make it to the city. I have to say the menus and upgrading are confusing. I see all these other players standing/walking around in the tower, how do you progress the story/single player? I stopped playing after I made it to the tower

You go into orbit and select earth then select one of the story missions.

Upgrading is not hard. You highlight an item and see if it's eligible for an upgrade. It will say so in the right corner of the item's info box that pops up when you highlight the item.

To upgrade your character you just highlight your top box that says your level and click in there. From that screen you can see what's available to upgrade.

Most of the later stuff will be strikes and raids. Raids are like strikes but need 6 people and teamwork. Some of them will take a couple hours at least to do.

There will also be a lot more story.

The gameplay feels really mediocre, for a shooting game I do not feel it is anything more than average. I guess the appeal for people will be the mmo-like gameplay/story/upgrading. The world feels dead, no interaction/physics at all

It's a shooter like halo or any other fps. The difference is in exploration and character stats/character customization.

IMO the actual gunplay is better in COD/Titanfall/Battlefield. Is there really going to be that much exploring? I have yet to see how big the game world and levels will be in total for the retail release. Now having said that I think the story/upgrading and universe of the game will warrant a purchase for me but as far as the gameplay and lack of physics in the game I am not impressed at all considering how hyped this game is and the massive budget

Yea will these guns aren't exactly the same type you would find in cod and bf4. I think bunjie will fix them later.

While I have yet to go back and play the beta after reaching the tower, I am concerned with the scale of the game worlds. This may be wrong info but I read somewhere online that there are only two locations on Earth.

The worlds we know about are The Moon, Earth, Mars, Venus, Europa(jupiter moon). Each world will have an area that is as large as the entire game world in Halo Reach. What we play in the beta is Old Russia: The Cosmodrome. That's a very small slice. A lot of areas in the cosmodrome are blocked currently as well.

Perhaps you're looking at it from the wrong perspective. It is not meant to be entirely single player, it is meant for you to explore, find items and chests, collect various resources and do various missions for the hub city with people. When you turn in these bounties and complete the missions you are rewarded and you turn those rewards in to get new armor and weapons. If you didn't explore, you missed the whole game already. There is a story, one which will have a huge amount of lore and a ton of mystery to uncover. That is only a part of the game, the meat of the experience is in exploration, public events that happen as you explore, and the strikes and raids that require a team to complete.

Also do realize that this entire game is played connected to an online server with the possibility of meeting people in the game world at any time. The games you mentioned are much smaller in scope with scripted events. What you call physics is actually pre-programmed and scripted in to do a certain thing. That doesn't work when you have a game world that is connected to everyone. I gave up on Titanfall after a week...I've played 20 hours in the Destiny beta and I never once felt bored or uninterested in it.

Earth itself will be larger than in the beta. Go back into explore mode and you can see how large it is. Pretty big for a demo I would say.

There are two other planets and moons too I believe which will have exploration and missions as well.

I think bungie mentioned one section is suppose to be bigger than halo reach. The beta is only 10% of the world to explore. I'm pretty sure there will be more sections of earth in the full game.

http://www.gamenguide.com/articles/...ill-be-as-big-as-the-whole-halo-reach-map.htm

In Halo, we worked with a team of 130 people," Diefenbach told UOL Jogos. "Now there are over 500 people working on Destiny. It's a much, much bigger game with a new graphics engine. The destinations like Mars, moon, Earth, each one is more or less the same size as the entire game of Halo: Reach.

Also of note is that we have only seen two enemy races. The Fallen and the Hive. There are two more that we know about, the Vex and the Cabal. I expect when we explore different planets and moons that there will be new technology to acquire and new weapons and armor to be found. Earth is pretty much ravaged and there's one city remaining. Much of the lore in the game suggests that most of the technology of the golden age of humanity is lost or destroyed. We are scraping by with what we can make work. So the weapons are a bit primitive. I expect we will find remnants of the golden age technology in other areas and be able to upgrade our weapons to something a bit more exotic.

People need to remember that this isn't a demo, it's a beta to test the game. Obviously it's not going to include tons of things because it's not meant to but I will say that this is one of the largest betas I've played. Most are just a map or two, not a huge world to explore like this is.

Do all the machine guns generally have a slow rate of fire? I get the bigger impact but feel as if they shoot too slowly. Probably for some sort of balance, but I think I like the rocket launcher better so far. I have to do a tougher public event with the machine gun to see how I feel though.

According to Engadget, the beta has been opened to all. I'll be checking the PS4 store today to see if I can download it.

The ai of your flying robot/drone thing has some bad voice acting, surprising since it is the guy from Game of Thrones

Well the voice for the main character was suppose to be that guy. You should have heard it in the alpha it was way worse.

I hate the multiplayer voice over. You've taken base a, it's youuuurs in a weird British like accent.

There is a model with a 96 bullet clip. Or 92? It fires like crazy I use the one with a 42 clip, good balance between fire rate and impact - it destroys everything.

It isn't bad at all to me. It is supposed to be monotone and robotic and i feel that is exactly what it is. What series Peter Dinklage is on is irrelevant really.
