Also I watched the actual interview in question. DeeJ was asked a leading question about is there only one area to explore on each planet and he said "yeah, we call them destinations...you have earth, the moon etc" like he was pushing the question aside and changing the subject. He never actually confirmed anything there. He did say that most of the moon was walled off. So everyone in those threads claiming to see the whole map in 15 minutes don't know what they are talking about.

Do remember too that they were able to open up the iron banner at will. It's entirely possible for Bungie to suddenly add some new mission for people to do, at any time. Special events and the like.
How does this game look on ps4? I'm playing on ps3 right and frankly find it rather ugly. Also mildly annoying I can see certain enemies, but the bullets won't hit them if I'm too far away. Otherwise enjoying it, but I might like it better on PC. Fps games with controllers have always given me issues.

I think one of the main problems is people hear or read that something will be big and expect miles and miles of terrain. Not taking the caves, overrun facilities, underground strongholds and bunkers etc into account or the detail of each location you see. There isn't just an old building off in the distance, there are remnants of a time before the destruction. It's easy to make a map seem like you walk 30 miles but have empty space. Lots of games do this like Skyrim and GTA. Actually if I remember people said the same thing about Skyrim, that it wasn't as big as they said. Go into one of the caves you find, that area is pretty damn huge (but it has to load). This game has no loading between each explorable area.
I've heard the moon was pretty big but I didn't get to play it. There are also locked areas that will be available at release. So as far as earth we have seen it except for the locked areas. Hopefully the missions will be engaging. I know the raids will be. Having one explore icon on each map though will let you explore the whole map if you want. So I don't know what people mean by only one area per map.
I thought the Moon mission in beta was one of the better ones, though it could be cause it was completely new content to try. I wasn't even able to play all of it (had to work) but from what I've read most people are saying there's plenty to explore. Some people even found some lv 20 enemies in a few of the tunnels (which there are a lot of).
