You can pretty much forget any interactive environment in Destiny. It's painfully static, it's all apparition geometry (you pass right through it) or indestructible.
The only interaction happens between your fist/grenades/bullets and enemies they hit
Which is partly(mostly?) because it's online the whole time and you can't destroy a building and expect random people to come and explore the area you just nuked.
Why not? Have the environment on a respawn timer too, just like the enemies (perhaps not as short, they pop out from their caves every few minutes tops!). This could show nice AI too, where the enemies would need to use an always changing environment for cover Imagine if you could wield guns that would leave craters around (maybe not too big, but still... space technology and all, weapons most likely also evolved).
Both Sony and MS yap about power of the cloud all the time - put its muscle to good use I'd say!
I don't think that would work as well as you think. I'm no programmer but the server programming sounds like a nightmare.
I also think you're starting to see why many of us called the cloud stuff nonsense before too
With the amount of money Activision poured into Destiny, I don't think anything is impossible. That's like half a billion USD... Because right now the game doesn't feel "next gen". It's just better graphics (higher resolution, better textures, longer draw distance) - there's nothing next generation about such things I'm quite sure the new consoles could handle it, even if it would be somewhat scripted or only certain areas would allow deformation.
Oh well, maybe in Destiny 2...

I am really excited about this game,.. but, I have to wait and see what the reviews for it will be like.
And, I am honestly holding out for a PC version.
You'll be waiting a long while I think, and I'm not talking next year.
Which I don't like. I don't know too many people with a PS4 and always having to wait for friends to be able to do a raid really sucks IMO.Probably because they want you to meet people and join up for stuff that way. Not always randoms.
They did say it requires teamwork. There is a spot in the first one where you have to jump from one platform to another as the first one disappears.
We have about 9 members of the Destiny clan. Plus others from here.Which I don't like. I don't know too many people with a PS4 and always having to wait for friends to be able to do a raid really sucks IMO.

Teamwork is necessary, and there are no waypoints or anything to tell you what to do or where to go in the raids.

Just to play with each other in the clan we'd have to set up a time, not everyone can be on at the same time. I just wish they'd make it available to play with anyone. Makes more sense like every other MMO or MMO lite. It's just going to be difficult to set up a time with five people then be able to stay on for those three or so hours. I really hope Bungie changes that soon.
Yes, add yourself!
Speaking of which, I can find the clan page on the website labeled beta, but not on theClans of Destiny site. Am I looking at the wrong stuff?
