Yeah, about what I expected to be honest because of the random nature of how long loading can take.

But this is somewhat good as it means bungie can potentially improve this with behind the scenes fixes, better servers, better network code, etc.

Something needs to be done where making a trip to the tower isn't so painful. Finish a strike and have to decrypt something which is a 10 minute diversion. Then when complete it's back to loading screens so you can decide where to go next.

I was thinking that maybe for like 25 or 50 motes of light they could sell a mobile cryptarch thing, where you can decrypt on the fly instead of heading to the tower.

Or just have the tower as a single player/offline experience. There is no point in having it online since there isn't a need to interact. They could even have it like Drivatars where they record the patterns of 100 random people and just load that for everyone. To me, it's one of the worst implemented parts of the game.

It actually reminds me a bit of the way Dark Souls implemented "multiplayer". You just see the ghost of someone walking for a bit, but you know you can't interact with them. It served to make players feel even more alone than they already did, which I think was the intended effect in that case. I think Bungie has unintentionally achieved the same effect by allowing you to see other players going about their business without allowing you to communicate with them meaningfully. Everyone might as well be in their own instance the way it is now.

See i'd rather keep the tower how it is, but let me decrypt, check mail, etc from EVERY planet. Most MMOs will have a small NPC area in each zone that you can do these things in, why not in destiny too? I have no problems keeping the tower the way it is now if I could access the cryptarch and bounties from anywhere.

I really like the public events, we just did one on mars and there was a whole slew of level 24-27 people killing waves of enemies. Other than that, it's like we are all competing for materials. Although I think the idea that if you are in the area, you still can get engrams is good.

Just what I see myself... 40s to over a minute loading times... And every time you switch locations :/ How can anyone think this is acceptable? Add disconnects and it's really annoying! Can you imagine such loading times when you use teleports in Diablo or move around Pandora in Borderlands? I remember such loading times in Doom 3, way back in 2005 or something.

Worth to mention.. when you go to the Tower and check your inventory during the flight, the rooster list fills up very fast and you can look at other people's gear. So honestly, it's not loading that... So why does it take this long?

EDIT: Also, loading times during exploring on patrol... Once I was stuck with "Loading..." for over 10s when just moving on my sparrow.

Happened half way through a strike. We were transitioning to a new area and two of us got stuck on a loading screen. Eventually it timed out after 2 minutes. Not like I won't get to play the strike 100 more times this week. Grrrrrr

Guess you haven't played MLB the show 14 for PS4. 80+ second loads are normal there on stock HDD.

No, I haven't. So there's another game with insanely long loading times... That does not justify anything. Diablo 3 even on PS4 has loading times counted in seconds (5s or so?).

There's really no excuse here. Seems the design was done because of last gen consoles and the extra RAM is only used for higher resolution assets and nothing more. The game even has loading screens as you travel... For me that's not acceptable and a valid point to complain about.

Something I have never experienced in destiny so not sure what you mean by this.

as for the other load times, I barely notice them, I am doing shit in my inventory or just waiting a few seconds. Also, I tend to plan out what I am going to do ahead of time to minimize load times, I don't understand why you wouldnt do the same if they bother you so much, and if they still bother you then get over it. It isn't changing any time soon, bitch and moan if you want, but I really don't think the majority of people care, nor will it change in the foreseeable future.

Occasionally, but not very often I have seen the game stop and a spinning circle pops up and it says loading. This is while doing patrol.

Not once has that happened to me, I think that's attributable to the SSD much faster seek time and random read speed.

That I will Not complaining won't change a thing. It's called constructive feedback. If it's bitching and moaning for you, so be it.

Doubt it's that. It's probably the network connection having troubles.
I've played 35+ hours and haven't had it happen a single time. Although I remember it happening in the beta (which I had installed to hdd) once or twice when on the sparrow.

I've had the game since launch and it just happened to me in Old Russia for the first time.

There's a website called destinylfg.net where you can request people for a fireteam and specify platform and what mission you want.

Given that WoW figured this out YEARS ago, that is an incredibly sh***y solution, and any game forcing users to resort to that is...well, garbage.

I've said it before in this thread: Destiny feels half baked, and lost between being a MMOFPS and FPSRPG. It got NEITHER right.

Unless Bungie starts fixing things, Destiny will be forgotten in a year. Just like how SWTOR was this BIG thing - it's Mass Effect as an MMO, but Star Wars! Oh, wait...this kinda sucks.

Ok...thanks?

Seriously it's not end of the world. WoW is an entirely different type of game too.

Someone criticising Destiny isn't the end of the world either, yet here you are trying to deflect everything that gets aimed at it.

Destiny is quite clearly influenced by the likes of WoW so comparisons can be perfectly valid.

It doesn't have the same type of party system though, not even close.

When someone with such anger comes on and starts saying things like garbage and shitty, yeah I'm gonna defend it.

Do you even realise what you're defending here? Players are having to resort to clunky 3rd party websites because the developers fucked things up... which part of that is worth defending?

The developers didn't "fuck up". They made a choice during development that people aren't too fond of. Hell they can likely patch in better party and chat functions...A game like this has the ability to constantly evolve. Just like WoW and other mmo's. WoW today hardly resembles WoW from launch.
